On January 20 this year, two people became the first fans to attend 100 ApologetiX concerts. One was Bethany Davis from Columbiana OH, who has seen the most ApologetiX concerts (110) and has seen them in the most states (18) of any fan who is not an actual relative or official roadie for the band. Surprisingly, the other person wasn't Bethany's dad, Larry, who has now seen us 104 times in 17 states; it was a guy from Lock Haven PA named Micah Clausen.
Since then, Micah has actually surpassed Bethany's totals for most concerts and most states by a non-relative. He has seen us at 135 concerts in 24 states. However, Micah has travelled with us in the van a number of times as our roadie, while Bethany came separately to all of her concert appearances. That's not to say Micah "coasted" to his concert totals, though; he even came to see us in Oregon on his own dime a few years ago.
We first met Micah at a concert in Brookville PA on October 20, 2001. Over the years, Micah has shown himself to be a bright and willing volunteer and a loyal friend, and so a while back, Karl began training him in the fine art of running sound and light.
On February 16 this year, Micah graduated to the big time, becoming our official production team leader. Although he lives a few hours away from the rest of us, he's still young (28) and doesn't have a wife or kids yet, which allows him to travel easily. He also has run his own business for a number of years, which gives him flexibility, experience, and a steady income, because the job with us doesn't pay much. :)
Welcome aboard, Micah!
