This Past Weekend in MI
Wed., Mar. 21. 2012 11:02pm EDT
We spent last weekend in the Detroit area with concerts in Hazel Park MI and Plymouth MI. You know what that means -- Lions and Tigers and prayers, oh my!
We ended up with extra time to eat a sit-down meal before setting up for Saturday's show, so lunch was on our lead singer, J. Jackson ... literally ... two bowls of tortilla soup ordered by Greg and Chris Spack. The waiter's balancing act turned out to be less than Oscar-worthy, and the bowls hit the floor before their contents hit J.'s pants, socks, and shoes.
J.'s trials were turned to gold later when our friend Craig Golden from Simply Matted in Saginaw MI presented him with a beautifully framed gold record -- not for the typical sales of 500,000 units of an album but for "Touching one life, one soul at a time," which is what the inscribed plate below the gold record read.
Craig also presented our keyboardist Todd Waites with an exquisitely matted and framed photo of Todd and his new bride, Laura, from their wedding this past New Year's Eve.
Here's a nice email excerpt from Friday's promoter:Thank you very much for the great job y'all did!

Hazel Park MI Now about those prayers we mentioned earlier -- here's an awesome testimony from a fan at Saturday's show:Just want to say that my son and I had a great time at the concert tonight. You guys were both entertaining and Christ glorifying, You are my son's absolute favorite band!
In addition, Jimmy Vegas Tanner gave my son one of his drumsticks after the concert! I guess it pays to sit in the front row LOL. Thank you for providing a way for my son and I to get some quality father-son time. May God bless you!
This was also my son Noah's second ApologetiX concert. The first time he saw you was in Toledo at least five years ago and my son was newly diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). He was pretty ill, but we came anyway. He even got to go up on stage when you did "All the Stalls Stink."
We have now come full circle! He got to come tonight and has been cancer free for four years! Praise God! He is the healer! Special thanks to:
