You May Be Someone's MVP

Two weeks ago, Major League Baseball announced the winners of its annual Most Valuable Player awards. I used to be able to recite every MVP from 1951 on, but things got harder for me (mentally and emotionally) when Barry Bonds won so many in a row.
In the kingdom of God, you'll never be the Most Valuable Player, because that's Jesus. The team loses every time without Him. However, in certain situations, you may be the most viable player. God prepares each of us, including you, for a special work in life.
One of the most-quoted Bible verses is Ephesians 2:8-9: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." I love that verse and use it often when sharing the Gospel, but don't forget the next verse, Ephesians 2:10:
"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." I'm not advocating a "works" mentality, merely pointing out that God already has specific good works prepared for us.
And if He already prepared them for us, then we can be confident that He already prepared us for them! Look, I have a very strange talent for writing parodies. Who would have thought that would be viable in the Kingdom of God?
Your talents, skills, and areas of expertise all make you viable, but ultimately it's not what you know, it's who you know. You know some people personally whom nobody else reading this knows. If you also know Jesus personally, then you are the most viable player to introduce those people to the Most Valuable Player.
