This Sunday: Pittsburgh Concert with Brass & Choir, See the Back to the Future Car
Thu., Oct. 6. 2016 10:44am EDT
Want to see what ApologetiX parodies look and sound like when performed with a full choir and brass section (plus guitars, keys, bass, and drums)?
Want to see the DeLorean time-machine car from Back to the Future II, up close and personal?
Then make plans to be in the Pittsburgh area this Sunday evening.
New Community Church in Wexford PA (ApX lead singer J. Jackson and guitarist Tom Tincha are members of the worship team there), is having a special concert on Sunday, October 9, where we'll be unveiling three new ApX parodies that haven't been released yet.
J., Tom, and ApX drummer Jimmy "Vegas" Tanner will be performing along with the NCC worship team, the choir, and a full brass section. J. will also be doing another Christian song that is near and dear to his heart and an important part of his personal testimony.
The DeLorean time-machine car from Back to the Future II will be there, too. Our friends Doc and Reba Nigh are bringing it all the way from California. They plan to be in the lot with the car on display before the concert.
Don't be surprised if some other current and former members of ApX drop by to see the show, too. They'll be invited, just as we're inviting you.
Although we're only performing three parodies, there will be plenty of other songs, and you'll be able to see and hear many other singers and musicians you've heard on ApX recordings. You'll also get a chance to meet them, because there will be a special "meet and greet" reception (with snacks!) afterward.
Here are some of the singers and musicians who will be performing. We've included the songs they've done with us in parentheses, so you'll be able to identify them more easily.
Elaine Heitzer (lead vocals on "You're So Plain")
Zuli Mason (lead vocals on "Killing My Suffering with His Son")
John Marcinizyn (slide guitar on "Amos")
Rusty Pontiere (bass on "Servin' the Father," "Seek Out God to Be Free")
John Sicher (harmony vocals on "It's You in Me," "Sad Today in the Dark")
Greg Macaluso (keyboards/piano on "Beggar's Feet," "Killing My Suffering with HIs Son," "Amos," "Obed-Edom, Obadiah," and "You're So Plain")
