Prayer Request Update on Fred's Daughter, Beth
Thu., Feb. 24. 2005 12:00am EST
As longtime readers of our newsletter know, our former drummer Fred Behanna's daughter Beth has been in a life-and-death struggle with Hodgkin's Disease. Recently, thanks in part to the contributions by ApologetiX fans, Beth was able to go to Mexico for experimental treatments.
Beth's mother, JoAnn, sent us this update on February 19:
Hello to everyone. I hope everyone is well. Beth and I arrived home late Feb. 3, and have been adjusting to the Oasis program. The protocol for her continued treatment is a strict regimen of organic foods, juicing, several oral medications and supplements, daily injections of laitrile, and other not so pleasant treatments.
Beth's color is better and she will have have comtinued lab work done here by her regular oncologist and in a month she will have a pet/ct scan to see how her progress is. These tests will be faxed to the Oasis Dr's for reveiw also. Beth has a five year follow-up plan with Oasis. In three months from our return we will need to go back to Oasis for a follow up check-up and to pick up more medications.
Beth has been a bit on the tired side and still has trouble sleeping and swallowing the rather large meds. She had a repeat procedure done last week to open up her constricted throat. Beth is anemic and has a low protein count that we are currently trying to improve. We are hoping for a miracle!
Beth and I truly appreciate all the efforts and help of so many people who have responded to her need. God and all of you worked in miraculous ways to make it possible for Beth to have another chance to fight for her life against this disease. I will continue to keep you updated in the future of Beth's progress. Thanks again and may God bless you all richly in your lives.
Sincerely,
JoAnn
