Last Weekend: OH, IN & Karl's Birthday
Thu., Mar. 24. 2005 1:49am EST
You know, it blows us away to think that about a month ago, our March calendar was empty. Then, a week or so after we made those dates available to promoters, we had eight concerts booked for the month!
Even more amazing is the fact that all of those concerts have been capacity or near-capacity crowds, even with such little time to promote and prepare. Last weekend's shows in Tiffin OH and Union City IN were no exception. Furthermore, they were larger venues, so the crowds were even larger.
Most amazing of all is the fact that ApologetiX superfan Beth Davis appears to have attended every ApologetiX concert (or almost every one) from Elburn IL on February 25 through Union City IN last Saturday. And her dad, Larry, seems to have been at every one since Irwin PA on February 26. They even coordinated our concert in Columbiana OH two weeks ago. ApologetiX lead singer J. Jackson was so impressed to see them in the crowd again in Union City that he altered the closing lyrics in "We're in a Parody Band" from "Will this hilarity end" to "There's Beth and Larry again!"
Special thanks to Cheri, Dave, Lisa & Katie Breidenbach, who worked so hard to make last Friday's concert in Tiffin OH such a success. Here's a follow-up email we received from Dave and Cheri:
"THANK YOU SOOOO much for the awesome job you did for our kids!! They loved it!! You can be sure that my kids - all several hundreds of them - will be checking out your web site & keeping track of where you guys are playing next. God bless you all & your ministry & thanks again so much!!"
Thanks also to Trena Schwartzkopf, who so impressively coordinated last Saturday's concert in Union City IN, which enlightened ApologetiX members now know is just across the state line from Union City OH! Here's a nice email we received this week from Nick Poling, who headed up the sound crew for Trena:
"We cannot possibly thank you all enough for ministering to this community and setting a fine example for the youth. Hope to see you all again soon. The pictures on the website are great."
By the way, we neglected to mention in last week's newsletter that Monday was ApologetiX lead guitarist/producer Karl Messner's birthday. We were planning a little surprise party for him when we returned from our road trip early Sunday afternoon, and in our eagerness to make Karl think we'd forgotten his birthday, we forgot to tell you about it! If you wish to email Karl, his email is his first name at our website address.
