Touching Testimony from TX
Thu., Jul. 30. 2020 11:02am EDT
We recently received this bittersweet correspondence from a fan in Texas:My husband and I have suffered from a miscarriage back in 2015. Due to any of number reasons, we were never able to grieve that loss. We have also recently lost another daughter in this way:
We had legal custody of a Taiwan girl (she started out as an exchange student, but was also a citizen) and it was supposed to be for four years while she went to high school. She calls me mom, we love her, she's our daughter. When COVID broke out, her natural parents terminated the guardianship and made her return to Taiwan. There was such an extreme sense of loss of my daughter.
ApologetiX music has been a huge part of my life for many years!. I absolutely love your music. More than that, I love your stories of how you take the Bible and make it easier to understand. Some of your songs have been very inspirational and let me realize that God has everything in control and will see us through any trial. In my darkest nights of crying out to God I can listen to one of your songs and gain new perspective.
I have worked through a lot of the grief and loss through many months of Christian therapy, and I feel I am ready to share my story with the world. Because of this, I decided to do a chronological Bible study of characters in the Bible who have lost a child in some capacity (there are roughly 22 of them!) From Eve who lost Abel, to Job who lost all his children, Naomi and her sons she lost and many more.
This has been a large part of my therapy by doing it via a blog. It quickly evolved into something bigger and I have now began writing a book, as there is nothing like that on the market at the moment. My goal and desire in writing the book (and also, I am in school to be a therapist) is to turn the grief into something to BRING GLORY to God. The book is titled Grace In The Midst Of Grief: A Journey of Healing through the Bible after Child Loss.
My purpose of reaching out is to inquire about the possibility of you considering writing the foreword. Thank You for your time, and I look forward to your response.
