This Weekend: 3 Shows in Greater Pittsburgh Area
Thu., Jul. 28. 2005 11:45pm EDT
This weekend, we play three concerts in the Greater Pittsburgh area, having already played a concert Wednesday in Harrisburg.
Friday, we'll be in West Newton PA (southeast of Pittsburgh, not too far from Irwin and Greensburg). Saturday, we'll be in Monroeville PA on the main drag, just off the PA Turnpike. Sunday, we'll return to Meadlowlands PA, just southwest of the city.
All of the weekend venues are places we've played before, so it'll be great to catch up with old friends there. All three locales are fairly intimate settings, so they're great places to see the band up close and personal. And, as we mentioned above, admission is free.
Friday's show at 7 p.m. in West Newton takes place at House of Faith ministries, a church that holds its services in a converted barn -- although it's probably one of the nicest looking former barns around, with state-of-the-art sound. House of Faith is the former home church of ApologetiX lead singer J. Jackson (when he lived in the area) and also has been home church to members of two other national Christian bands, Zao and Juliana Theory.
Please note that the Saturday concert starts at 6:30 p.m., and not at 7 p.m. It's at Family Christian Stores in a shopping plaza, so you can shop while you rock. Monroeville also has plenty of restaurants and a great mall a few hundred yards down the road (it was the site where the original "Dawn of the Dead" movie was shot), if you want to make a day of it. For a truly unique experience, visit the mall and then pick up Audio Adrenaline's "Some Kind of Zombie" CD at the Family Christian Store :)
The Sunday concert is a rare acoustic event (just Karl and J.), a full concert that takes place during the time of the regular Sunday morning service at the Meadows Track Chapel in Meadowlands PA. If you saw us last year at the Meadows, this is a different location at the same complex. Although we will be doing some songs from "Apol-acoustiX," we will also be performing acoustic versions of other ApologetiX songs.
We're thrilled to be playing so many concerts so close to home. Hope to see you there!
