Lyrical Inspiration: One Source, Many Locations

We're always honored when people tell us they have been inspired by our lyrics. We feel like we couldn't inspire anybody if God hadn't inspired us first. Here's an email regarding that topic and a response from ApologetiX lyricist J. Jackson:
I love the music and the message in your songs. Two songs have especially inspired me. These are "People" and "Wherever You Will Sow". Of course, there are other songs which "stick" with you when others don't like: "Choirboy", "Corinthians", "Life Restored", "Hotel Can't Afford Ya", and "Enter Samson."
I don't have all of your CD's yet, only six. My seven-year-old son keeps getting into my discs and listening/singing to the songs too! I think he was hard on my Spoofernatural CD and it has a crack now. Oh, well. Continue to DEFEND THE FAITH! The "World" listens when we live what we believe. Thanks, guys.

Thanks, David! Those are some of our favorites, too! Anything good your hear in our lyrics comes from God, and it can come in the most ordinary settings. For the record, the songs you mentioned had at least partial inspiration in the following places:
"People" - inspired by a book called "The Search for the Twelve Apostles" and a speech made by Josh McDowell at a presentation I covered for the school newspaper in college.
"Wherever You Will Sow" - on a trip home from the bank and in the living room at my in-laws' house in Kentucky.
"Choirboy" - at a Burger King in Ellwood City PA and on a road trip to South Dakota.
"Corinthians" - in the shower
"Life Restored" - mowing the lawn
"Hotel Can't Afford Ya" - in a snowy parking lot at a local Giant Eagle supermarket
"Enter Samson" - I honestly can't remember, but as soon as I had the title, I knew that was it. If Samson were walking the earth today, Metallica would definitely be his kind of band. And they had long hair that got cut off and then started to grow again, just like Samson.
