A Day in the Life

Last weekend, we had the chance to take over a TV show as the host wasn't even there! TCT Alive was All ApologetiX All the time (for one hour.) We had a great time. The crew was wonderful and it all worked out great. We can't wait until it airs!
I was privileged to be able to attend the ApologetiX concert on TCT Alive - WAQP TV in Saginaw, MI. It was a rare opportunity to see the band setting up, making last minute changes, coordinating everything with the people at WAQP, and handling the ?technical difficulties?! It was really special to see, all of the staff at the station form a circle with ApologetiX to ask for God?s blessing. What a neat experience to witness the Lord answering those prayers with a calmness given to the band members in spite of the time pressures and the difficulties that came up during the session. In true ApologetiX style, humor was sprinkled in here and there to relieve some of the stressfulness of performing their songs and giving testimonies to a worldwide TV audience.
J did a wonderful job sharing his testimony of how the Lord has worked in his life and how ApologetiX got started. Karl, who always makes an instant connection with any audience, did a super job of explaining the mission of ApologetiX as ?reaching the lost and teaching the rest?. One of the greatest things that ApologetiX is doing is encouraging young people (of all ages) to read their Bibles. Karl has a special e-mail address where you can send him an e-mail with the passage you read that day in the subject line. This is great motivator and an example of accountability rarely found today.
J introduced the rest of the band and gave each one a few minutes to share. This was a special treat. Each member of ApologetiX plays a vital role in the overall performance of the band. Keith on bass guitar is sort of like the ?base? or foundation of their music. The multi-talented Bill, who plays keyboard, guitar, and fiddle, also plays a vital part. The newest member, Jimmy on drums, brings much life and energy.
In addition to the concert at WAQP in Saginaw, I was able to attend the concert that evening in Midland. It was awesome! It is wonderful that all these talents are being used for the Lord. They demonstrate that you can be a Christian and have a whole lot of fun! Just as important as the concert itself is the time after the concert when the band members talk to people one-on-one or in small groups. On April 29, 2006, after a very long, exhausting day, that is just what they did. This is where you can see that these are ?real people? giving of themselves for the cause of Christ.
J, Karl, Keith, Bill, and Jimmy - Keep up the good work!
