Did you do any videos before "Downer of a Sister?"

In early 2000, ApologetiX did produce an independent video project (now out of print) that had videos for both "One Way" and "Hotel Can't Afford Ya (Live)."

Although "Downer of a Sister" became the first official nationally released ApologetiX video in the fall of 2004, it wasn't the first song considered for that purpose.

The band had originally hoped to do a video for "Smooth Grandmama," the initial single from their previous album, "Grace Period," in 2002. Karl had started to map out the screenplay for that one, and hoped to have J. play the role of the song's main character, a Bible-toting grandmother.

J., who never had any aspirations to be an actress, thought he'd dodged a bullet when that project never materialized. Little did he know that the bullet was actually a heat-seeking missile, and sooner or later, it would catch up with him!
