ApologetiX CDs are the core of our ministry. Whatever you can do to put an ApologetiX CD into some kids' hands is worth it.
Got this message recently from a school bus driver in Gettysburg, Pa:Hello. I am a school bus driver for the Gettysburg school district, (PA) and I drive high school and middle school kids. I am a Christian, a real one. I play 88.3 The Word, out of Chambersburg, radio station on my bus three days a week - Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The other two days I play a country station and a soft rock station, to break it up so that the kids don't complain. On the country station, I cringe when I hear the song, "Save a Horse . . .", you know the rest. Most times I will change the station. These middle schoolers are singing this song, not really having a clue at what they're suggesting. On Wednesday, as I was driving, with my bus about half full of kids, I heard your song, "Save Your Voice".
At first, I have to tell you, it caught me off guard. With the engine and the heaters running, sometimes it's hard to hear the radio, and I knew that I did NOT have the country radio station on. I was thinking, "What in the world am I hearing, I KNOW that country is NOT on!" As I strained to listen closer, I happened to glance in my rearview mirror, and noticed that all of the kids were listening and also curious as to what was playing. (They can hear the radio much better than I, because they're not sitting right in front of the engine.) I could tell by their faces that they were intrigued. When I realized what you were really singing, I was estatic! Finally, some good to overcome that awful song.
I got on the radio station's website and was led [to ApologetiX.com]. I plan to get the CD shortly. I notice some other songs that I also like, (the parody of the Whitesnake song). You are right, these songs will reach the unsaved much better and easier than the general Christian songs because they come from what "they know" - (music sound.) I know that I don't have kids getting saved on my bus everyday, but I also know that I am planting many, many seeds in over 40 kids on a regular basis.
Thank you for giving me a song to really get excited about!! Now maybe, they'll be singing your lyrics instead of the "others"!! Thank you again and keep following the Lord's leading- you're reaching more than you know!!!
