This Past Weekend in TN & GA
Mon., May. 14. 2007 4:29pm EDT
The three big H's (heat, humidity, and hospitality) of the South were in full effect this past weekend at our concerts in Dickson TN and Columbus GA. Even the concert promoters had names that started with H: Melanie Holcomb (Dickson) and Hope Johnson (Columbus), and they were quite effective too. Great job, ladies!
Hope also celebrated her birthday two days in advance with us in Columbus. She's a friend and a fan we met two and a half years ago at another concert in Georgia. Although it was the first ApologetiX concert Hope's promoted, it was the tenth she's attended (in Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina). Here's an excerpt from an email she wrote to follow up:
Thank you for making this one birthday I will never forget. It was everything and more that I could have wanted ... I have heard nothing but good things about the whole experience!
Everyone just loved it. My mom said she just kept hearing that night from passersby how awesome it was and how much they loved it. Columbus wants you all back! And we may, and it may have to be at a bigger venue next time! Wouldn't that be great!
I DID make it to church the next day, on time, nonetheless! I was hearing from everybody "I had a great time!" "I've been wearing out my CD!" "We were listening to it on the way to church this morning!" I've even gotten a few e-mails from people telling me how much fun they had. We'd love to have you back in the future.
After Saturday's concert, we drove through the night and arrived home in the late afternoon, in time to celebrate Mother's Day with our families. It was a great way to end a great weekend.
Special thanks to:
Our merchandise coordinators: Katie, Nicole, Sarah, and Sondra (Dickson); and Marie, Kim, Lisa, Ally, and Alice (Columbus).

Honorable mention to: Rich and Marie Polick, who drove from Pittsburgh PA to Columbus GA. The father-daughter team have now seen us play in 10 different states.
