This Past Weekend in North Carolina
Sun., Jun. 24. 2007 6:41pm EDT
We enjoyed North Carolina so much that we decided nothing could be finer than to spend an entire weekend there, and that's what we just did, with concerts in Burlington (Friday), Hickory (Saturday), and Clemmons (Sunday).
Here's a nice note we received from Todd Greene, who attended the Hickory show:
Love the new light show. I was also impressed with how you guys are so funny (that bit with Keith and the air keyboard was especially hilarious to me) and yet you know when to get down to business and get serious. The presentation of the Gospel was clear and concise.
And your graciousness in handling all us fans who just want to say hi and shake your hand. Your music has come to mean a lot to me. There is so much Scripture and encouragement in each song. And a concert is like a seminary degree you get so much, between the lyrics and the explanations of the stories you're telling.
Well, I'm gonna go now. I could type for days about my experience and how much this meant to me ... Thanks again for one of the best nights I've ever had.
Special thanks to:
Our concert coordinators: Jack Thomas (Burlington and Clemmons) and Don Strickland (Hickory).
Our merchandise coordinators: Pamela and Bridgett (Burlington); Marie, Jordan, Brenda, and Nichole (Hickory); and Mary, Courtney, and Sarah (Clemmons).
Our roadies: Rich (Hickory), Derrick and Brandi (Clemmons).
Honorable mention to:
Rich and Marie Polick, who made the trip from Pittsburgh to our concert Saturday night in Hickory. It was their fourth trip to North Carolina to see us in the past 12 months.
Derrick, Brandi, Jenna, and Caleb Leasure, who came from Ohio to see us Sunday in Clemmons, their 29th concert and seventh state. They also plan to come to all 10 concerts on our ten-day tour!
