APX Wins CCM "Dream Cover" Contest?
Mon., Aug. 6. 2007 10:11pm EDT
Although we haven't received official notification, it appears that ApologetiX won CCM Magazine's online contest for July, in which people voted on their "dream" covers for the magazine. July is now over, and when we checked the standings on August 6, ApologetiX led by over 900 votes.
We learned last week from CCM that certain voters for our main competition were hacking into the system and casting massive amounts of votes at a time, so the website removed all of those votes, knocking that cover into fourth place.

Thanks for taking the time to vote. CCM Magazine is recognized as the premier publication dealing with contemporary Christian music. Because ApologetiX is an independent band doing what many perceive to be "novelty" songs, it's been hard for us to get CCM to take us seriously. But contests like this help.
Of course that doesn't mean CCM will put us on their cover any time soon, but there is a way we could accomplish that. When CCM holds their annual Readers' Choice Awards at the end of the year, we'll ask you to vote for us (only once) as the "artist you'd most like to see featured on the cover." Last year, we came in second, and we really didn't push our fans to vote in that category. Imagine what could happen if we all pulled together on that one!
