ApologetiX Update - Michigan & Much More
Tue., Feb. 29. 2000 2:37am EST
Dear friends of ApologetiX:
J. Jackson, lead singer for ApologetiX (That Christian Parody Band) here.
EXCUSES EXCUSES
Sorry it's been so long since our last newsletter! Boy, have we been busy! To those of you who have sent e-mails and haven't gotten responses yet, please hold tight! We will get back to you! Please forgive the delay!
CONCERTS THIS MONTH
We'll be in Michigan for two concerts this weekend (See schedule below), and later this month, we'll be in Minnesota, Wisconsin and New Jersey, plus concerts in Eastern, Central and Western Pennsylvania (See schedule below.)
RADIO INTERVIEWS
I've done about 40 radio interviews in the past month and a half, and it's really exciting to see what kind of response our new CD, "Biblical Graffit," is getting. Everybody tells us it's our best work yet!
NEW WEBSITE ALMOST READY
Karl has shown me the new website, and it's a beauty! It should be up and running any day now, so make sure you check www.apologetix.com in the next week or so. It has a lot of cool features and a great-looking design.
NEW VIDEO COMPLETED
The new ApologetiX video is finished (all shot in high quality digital video). It's 24 minutes long and includes interviews, lots of "live" music clips and on-stage humor (as you've grown accustomed to if you've seen us "live") plus full-length videos for "One Way" (studio version) and "Hotel Can't Afford Ya" (live version). We plan to use this video for several purposes:
1. to promote concerts,
2. to submit to T.V. and
3. as a video that ApologetiX fans can purchase. It was directed and produced by our own resident genius, Karl Vaughn Messner. If you like what Karl does in the studio, you'll love what he's done in the film editing room. Many of you have been pleading with us to do a video, and we just had to wait till we had the proper film footage and the proper technology. I think you'll find it was worth the wait. More details to come on that.
HOW ABOUT THE NEXT CD?
Yeah, it always happens. As soon as we get a new CD out, people start asking if we're working on the NEXT CD. If you think that's bad, you should try being in this band. As soon as Fred and Keith get their drum and bass parts done with a CD (which is usually about two months before the CD comes out), they start asking if it's time to learn new songs for the next CD! Well, if you're curious, we are working on a lineup for the next CD, which is slated to be mostly '80's songs, with a few parodies of some hits from the past year. Many of the songs are already written (God has given me a real creative spurt in the past two months, and I've been having a blast!), so we'll keep you posted. We'd love to get it out by fall 2000.
CDS NOW IN MORE STORES
ApologetiX CDs are now available in well over 150 stores in about 30 states ... plus Canada and Australia. Be sure to check out the website for a complete listing. We have been adding several stores a week lately. We've also been added to the catalogs of Christian Book Distributors and Riverside, two of the top three catalogs that Christian book and music stores order from. So in a month or two, every Christian store in the country should be able to order our CDs. That's very exciting!
HM MAGAZINE AND CAMPUS LIFE
There are features on ApologetiX slated for the May issues of both "HM Magazine" (an interview) and "Campus Life" (a review of the new CD), so be sure to check them out. Both magazines are available in most Christian bookstores.
