ApologetiX on Air in the UK
Tue., Apr. 13. 2010 2:27pm EDT
Any self-respecting rocker has a soft spot in his heart for the United Kingdom because of all the great music that's come from over the pond. So we were very blessed to hear that ApologetiX was heard for an extended period on BCFM 93.2 FM in Bristol in the United Kingdom on Easter Sunday:Christians in Bristol were able to take over the station for 12 hours and my friends Ali Hender and Andy Jones had a one-hour slot. They chose to play ApologetiX for the whole hour! It was a great show!
Michelle Marshall
Winscombe, United Kingdom We asked Michelle to thank Ali and Andy, and she forwarded our message to them. Here's the replay we got back from Andy:I first came across your music on an Christian internet radio station. I can't remember which one; I think that it had 'Pirate' in the name. Anyway, I heard "Corinthians" and "Smooth Grandmama" and "December 5 or 6 B.C. (Oh Holy Night)."
As a Weird Al Yankovic fan, I immediately loved your stuff. I bought all the CD's up to Grace Period (the latest at the time) and started playing them to other friends. I have subsequently bought the CD's up to Wordplay. I am looking forward to getting more, since 'More than a Feeling' is one of my favourite songs and so am delighted that you parodied it.
On Easter Sunday, my friend Ali and I had the opportunity to play songs on a radio station and thought that a selection of your songs would be fun and diverse (since we played songs from all decades and most styles) while getting across a Christian message.
Finally, I know that you are a busy band, but I would be thrilled if you guys came over to the UK to play. I really love your work and several songs have touched me personally.
Yours in Christ
Andrew Jones
Bristol UK We were touched personally by Andrew's email, and we do hope to make it the United Kingdom someday.
