From Calgary to Calvary: APX Helped Fan Find Christ
Sun., May. 23. 2010 5:21pm EDT
One of the highlights from last weekend's concerts was meeting a fan named Rodney and his wife, Iona, who drove 700 miles from Calgary, Alberta, Canada to see us play in Yakima WA.
We were blown away that they would travel such a distance to see us, but we were even more touched to learn that we were a part of Rodney's testimony. He explained how that happened in this follow-up email:Last night in Yakima, I finally got to see you guys. Wow, what a great time of praise -- not just a show, for I saw the praise for the Lord and felt it. My wife and I drove down from Calgary, Alberta, Canada to see the show. It was well worth the 700-mile drive.
It was ApologetiX that helped save me when I became a Christian. I had met my wife, who was a Christian at the time, and fell in love. But I had not accepted Christ yet. I believed in God but was not saved. I was away a lot, as I was a long-haul truck driver.
One late night I heard "Lazy Brain" on my XM Satellite Radio. After that I tried to find as much of your music as possible. I would right down the Bible verses mentioned in the songs then look them up. It was a beginning for me to get to know my Bible. Thank you all for your great music and continue to rock on.
