In Memorium: Dale McGuire, ApologetiX Fan and Friend
Wed., Sep. 22. 2010 11:32pm EDT
We were deeply saddened to receive the news that longtime ApologetiX fan and friend Dale McGuire of Lancaster PA died suddenly this past Saturday of an apparent stomach aneurysm.
Dale was just a month shy of his 46th birthday and is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. His son C.J. wrote to tell us the news, and he added:We know he is in Heaven with Jesus, and we can praise God for that. Dad was looking forward to your Soundproof CD. We got to hear the songs at the concert where you recorded it, but even now I'm sure he can still listen to your songs in Heaven. In addition to seeing ApologetiX in concert 19 times (he was planning to make our November show in Stroudsburg PA be his 20th) in multiple states, Dale also frequently sent us encouraging emails. We will miss him greatly.
Dale had told us he was particularly looking forward to a parody on Soundproof called "Trust Him." The final chorus that talks about a person ready to go to Heaven:
Trust Him – I'm a goin' home
Whoa whoa baby, up where I belong
Back home – sit by my master's throne
You get there trustin' God
It is bittersweet for us to think of how Dale liked that song so much, and now, just like that singer of the song, he got to go home to Heaven, sitting by his Master's throne, by trusting God.
Please pray for Dale's family during this time.
