This Past Weekend in MA
Wed., Feb. 2. 2011 10:33pm EST
Massachusetts was the first state we ever played in New England, way back in 1998. Although we visited every other New England state (including some multiple times) in the years that followed, we didn't make it back to Massachusetts until 2008 -- a full decade later.
We've made up for lost time since. Our three concerts in Pittsfield MA and Oxford MA this past weekend gave us a total of nine overall in the Bay State, including eight in the past three years.
By hosting our first concert of 2011, Pittsfield MA became the only place (other than Irwin PA in the early days) to have hosted both our first concert of the year and our last concert of the year (in 2008).
Despite the snowy conditions, we had great turnouts, so things look promising for more Massachusetts trips. In fact, our evening show in Oxford MA sold out so quickly that we had to add a second show, which was also very well attended.
It took us a little longer than usual to get home, though, as our bus blew a tire near Wilkes-Barre PA Sunday afternoon. When AAA finally got there, they couldn't fix it (even though we had a spare), so we had to rely on another repair person, and the process set us back about three hours and a couple hundred bucks. We spent the time autographing CDs in the bus for this week's sale.
Here are some nice comments from this past weekend's promoters:Thank you for coming and being willing to add the second show! I know that made a long evening for you all, and I just want you to know how much we appreciate your doing that. Hopefully we'll have another opportunity to partner with you again in the future.

Stephen and I had so much fun with you and the band! It was nice getting to know you more, too. Once again we were very appreciative of all your hard work doing two concerts to help make the night a success!
