ApologetiX in Lansdale (Philadelphia) PA, NY, More
Wed., May. 14. 2003 11:07pm EDT

J. Jackson, lead singer for ApologetiX (That Christian Parody Band) here.

Thanks to all of you who came out to see us in Michigan and Missouri last week! Thanks also to our guitarist, Karl, and drummer, Bill, who drove through the night Saturday so we could make it from Michigan to Missouri ... and I don't want to forget our bass player, Keith, who drove almost all the rest of the weekend! I forgot to mention it in the last email newsletter, but it was Bill's birthday on Monday, and everybody got to sing him "Happy Birthday" at our tour stops. If you'd like to extend birthday wishes to Bill, his email is bill@apologetix.com.

In case anybody out there is wondering, yes, we continue to read the Bible cover to cover, over and over, and it keeps betting better and better. I just finished the book of Nehemiah again this morning (That book has more names and numbers than some small-town phone books :) so it's on to action-packed Esther, which is always a quick read. We haven't done a song about Nehemiah (yet), but we did cover the story of Esther in "Sufferin' Just Finished" on our "Grace Period" CD. Regardless of my feelings about green, leafy vegetables not named Junior or Archibald, I do NOT sing "Sufferin's Just Spinach" at any point in that song :)

3. NOW YOU CAN HEAR AND REQUEST OUR NEW SINGLE

As we mentioned last week, we just released our third single from "Grace Period," a remix of "How You Rewind Me," which sounds a little different than the one on the CD. We rerecorded the vocals to give them a harder rock edge and the music is a little tighter, although the single retains the lyrics and the feel of the original parody. We sent the new mix to radio last week, so your local Christian rock station should have their copy now.

We're getting a great response from our fans thus far, and WZZD morning show host, Tim "Timmy D." DeMoss says: "Extra-grainy voice to start off, slightly more-aggressive geetar, and a Hallelujah chorus-y thing toward the end to embellish the sound. What a remix! What a country!"

If you'd like to hear more ApologetiX on your local Christian rock station, please go to the website below, where you can get your own free MP3 copy of the "How You Rewind Me" remix, and get info on how to contact your local station to request it.

4. APOLOGETIX AT CROSSOVER IN MISSOURI - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Last June, ApologetiX had the privilege of playing Spirit FM's Crossover festival at the Lake of the Ozarks in Camdenton MO, along with other artists like Rachel Lampa and Mercy Me. This June, we have been asked to return. Mercy Me will be there again as well, along with 4 Him, Phat Chance, Riley Armstrong, By the Tree, Paul Colman Trio, SuperChic[k], Skillet and Rebecca St. James.

As you can see, Crossover has no shortage of great Christian artists. What they do have is a shortage of great Christian volunteers. I know a lot of people who volunteer at festivals like this as a way of getting into a festival they otherwise might not be able to afford to attend, and my experience with festivals is that they understand, and they just plain appreciate having the help! So, if you're interested, here's the link to apply:

5. AMAZING $7 CD SALE EXTENDED YET AGAIN

Yes, you heard it right. The longest-running sale in the world (at least in the Christian parody world) has been extended once again. Last week, I decided not to include the info on our cracked CD sale (one fan called it our "scratch and dent" sale) in the newsletter, and wouldn't you know it, I received emails from fans asking if the sale was still on ... and we still got plenty of orders. So we'll keep it going at least another week. We've also added literally thousands of new subscribers since the sale started, so here are the details once again:

We have a limited supply of CDs with cracked cases that we are selling at a greatly reduced price. All seven of our titles are available. All of the CDs and booklets are in perfect shape. The cases are in various degrees of disrepair, some are in near-perfect shape while some don't even have cases, but all of them have the CD, the booklet and the tray card, so all you need is a CD case in good condition. I will autograph all of the CDs to help make up for the broken cases.

For a limited time only, we are making them available to our e-mail subscribers for $7 each. We are also putting our remastered "Have Yourself a Parody Little Christmas" six-song CDs on sale for a limited time for $7 each.

Mail orders only. Sorry, no credit cards. Please make checks/money orders payable to ApologetiX.

Shipping & handling is a flat rate of $5 for your entire order, no matter how many you order.

Simply print out this e-mail and fill out the form below and send it in along with your check/money order to the address at the bottom of the order form.

We must receive your check/money order before we ship. Don't worry about contacting us by e-mail. Just send the form via postal mail and include your name and address.
