This Past Weekend in NC & GA
Thu., May. 12. 2011 2:28am EDT
Ray Charles sang "Georgia on My Mind." James Taylor sang "Carolina in My Mind." We couldn't make up our minds, so we went to both places this past weekend, with concerts in East Flat Rock NC and Columbus (Midland) GA.
We had other things on our mind on the trip home once we discovered that our bus had suffered severe damage to one of its axles, but we wrote about that in a separate story. Let's just focus on the pleasant things from this past weekend for now. Here are some email excerpts we received afterward from our promoters:As always, you guys put on a great show, and it was fresh for Wayne and I too because about a third of the songs last night we had not seen you all do live yet.
This was actually the first time our wives were able to see ApologetiX live! They really enjoyed it, and my wife really got a kick watching the kids who were there enjoy the show.
She also got a kick out of watching some of the folks who obviously had not heard you guys before. There was an older gentleman with a white beard maybe four rows back in the center who was just cracking up at the lyrics! It was so funny to watch because we know the lyrics so we knew when to watch and wait for his laughter. She was tickled by that.
For your write up about this weekend -- the roadies were the Asheville Saints homeschool football team and the ladies who made dinner were Kristi Fritz, Wendy Auman and Keila Clark.

What a witness you are! We were honored you'd come all the way to GA to play in our church. I heard lots of great comments today from folks at church. May God bless you and the band in your ministry.

Midland (Columbus) GA Here are some Facebook and email excerpts we received afterward from fans in attendance:It was an amazing show! Thank you so much for sharing your music ministry for all of us tonight. Our family will be planning to book you for another show in the future. Thank you for your genuine hearts and wonderful conversation after the concert. Thanks, also, for taking the time to talk with our boys about their music interests.

Great show, guys! This is the first time I've heard J. give his testimony during the show. He needs to keep doing that! Maybe follow up with "Yes Today."

I have seen plenty of stadium rockers in my day ,and none of them have more talent than ApologetiX. You guys seriously rock and do so for God's glory. I have been "wearing out the grooves" of the CDs I bought. Each time I hear these tunes I get more out of them! What an awesome use of your creativity and talent!
