Why We're in Such a Crisis

Our new bus still isn't ready, so we had to rent a van again for this weekend. We've spent almost $15,000 in rentals since last fall.
Since our rash of vehicle problems started last year, it's cost us an additional $20,000-plus in repairs to our old and new buses.
We probably lost another $25,000 in ticket/CD sales from concerts cancelled by vehicle problems last year.
Add in the price of the new bus itself, and you have over $65,000 in expenses over and above our normal operating costs.
Many fans point out that if each fan-club member just gave a dollar, that would be $65,000. Unfortunately, that's not the way it works.
About 8% of fans read any newsletter. If we ask for help, one out of every 400 fans may respond. If each of them gives a dollar, that's $162.50.
Thankfully, those who do give, give generously, according to their means. We rejoice at any gift received, no matter what the amount.
This is not meant to be a guilt trip. We don't feel that any fan owes us anything. We're just explaining why we're currently in such a crisis.
