6. Remembering Dave Sjoberg

Howdy! I don't know if it's late where you are, but it is where we are! It's 1:53 a.m. EST as I prepare to send this, and we all have to get up bright and early for the long trip from Pittsburgh to Minnesota tomorrow! So, forgive me if I'm not as verbose as usual (see, your prayers DO work! :) I promise to be much more talkative, congenial and downright outgoing if you come to see us in person this weekend in Willmar MN (Friday) or Kimberly WI (Sunday).

Also, please forgive any typos; my proofreader went to bed already. It's wonderful to have a wife who's not only beautiful but is also a former editor and a card-carrying member of Mensa. However, she needs plenty of rest to take care of those three little girls we have running around our house, especially when I'll be gone for a long weekend :)

1. Sale: All CDs $7, All T-Shirts $10 (1 Week Left)

Hurry! There's only one week left to take advantage of our special "Back to Pool" sale -- all eight of our CDs (brand new) for $7 each, and t-shirts (limited supply left) for $10 each. If you want to take advantage of this offer, I'd advise you to do so ASAP. If your Internet service doesn't allow you to click this link, copy and paste it into the address section on your Internet browser or just got to apologetix.com and click on the "Adam Up" CD.

5. Upcoming Concerts (New Ones in OH, TN, VA & PA)

There are a lot more concerts in the works than the list below shows -- even more than the four new ones we added this week! Look for more summer/fall additions in other states in upcoming newsletters. And for those of you who've noticed our schedule has an awful lot of white space from October through December, have no fear; there's big stuff in the works that'll fill that space up rather nicely ... but we can't tell you about it just yet.

This list adds concerts frequently, so stay tuned for more info. For the full details on all of the concerts below, please go to http://www.apologetix.com/tour.html and scroll to the bottom.

6. Remembering Dave Sjoberg

As we play in Minnesota and Wisconsin this weekend, we'll be remembering fondly our old friend and Minnesota native Dave Sjoberg, who died unexpectedly, June 26, the day after suffering a stroke. Dave and his twenty-something son, Erik, came to many of our concerts in both Minnesota and Wisconsin in the past five years.

If I remember correctly, it was Erik who first introduced his dad to us, but Dave actually wound up coming to even more concerts than his son. Furthermore, after the concerts, he would often send us handwritten letters of thanks with photos from the shows. Dave was a huge fan of Christian music, a very friendly guy, and a great encourager. We will miss him greatly.

In the email we received from Erik recently, he shared the following with us: " I just wanted to let you know how much you guys were appreciated by him. He loved your music, your heart and your witness. Just thinking back to the memories of he and I driving 5-6 hours to Green Bay to see you guys for the first time and then talking to you guys at Sonshine and all of the concerts. From a man who LOVED his music you were definitely one of his favorite bands. Thank you guys for everything you do."

God's Blessings Erik

We thank God for the honor of Dave's friendship, and we ask that you please pray for the family he left behind. We know that Dave's family takes comfort in knowing he went to be with his Lord, but times like these can still be a devastating thing (Last Thursday was the two-year anniversary of my oldest sister Jeannine's passing, and it still hasn't quite sunk in.) Jesus wept at Lazarus' grave, even though He knew He was about to raise Lazarus from the dead! How comforting it is to know that our savior understands our grief at times like this. We'd like to include the scripture verse at the bottom of this week's email in memory of Dave.

Apologetically,

J.

Isaiah 57:1-2
The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death.
