J. Jackson, lead singer and lyricist for ApologetiX (That Christian Parody Band) here.'

Hey, I hope you actually get this newsletter. We have reason to believe that many of our 40,000-plus email subscribers have not been receiving it for the past month or so. We're trying to get to the bottom of things, and it's just as frustrating for us, because we spend a lot of time on this newsletter. Consequently, I'm going to keep this brief in case that helps it get to you.

Thanks to everybody who came to see us in Oregon last weekend -- 1,600 men in Oregon for three shows with no repeat songs. That means we had to dig in the vaults to keep those shows fresh. It was fun to be doing songs we hadn't done in a while.

This weekend we'll be in Alton IL, very close to St. Louis MO. We plan to record the performance, so if you'd like to add your voice to the crowd for one of the potential "live" tracks for a future ApologetiX release, this is your chance. Hope to see (and hear) you there!

4. Want to Book a Fall Concert?

Usually, if you waited till mid-September to book a fall concert with ApologetiX, you might have to wait till the fall of 2005. Not this year. If you'd like to book a fall concert with ApologetiX, you picked the perfect time to do so. Here's why:

For most of this year, we had special plans that were going to keep us occupied for most of the fall from mid-October through early December. Consequently, we did not book any concerts on those weekends. However, we have decided to change those plans, and those weekend dates are now available, although our booking agent, Kathleen Burke of Burke Communications, working hard to fill them in as quickly as possible.

If you'd like more information about booking a fall concert with ApologetiX, please contact

5. ApologetiX at Creation 2005? Your Vote Counts & You Could Win Free Tickets

The Creation festival in Central Pennsylvania (with its accompanying Creation West festival in George WA) is possibly the longest-running and largest overall Christian music festival in the United States. ApologetiX played main stage several years ago, and ever since, we've had people asking when we were going to play again.

Well, let's just say this: In 1999, our fans barraged Creation's offices with letters and emails asking for us to play there. It was too late for 1999, but Creation listened and had us on main stage in 2000. We're on the ballot this year (Yes, we double checked before we included this blurb :) here's a chance to make it happen. Here's the link:

http://www.itickets.com/contest/creation/

Here's what the Creation festival's people have to say about the voting:

"Help us book the musicians for the Creation Festival 2005 and maybe win FREE tickets! The Creation Festival wants to know which artists you would like to see at Creation 2005. Your input really counts and definitely will have an impact."

By completing the survey, your name will be automatically entered in a drawing to win a pair of Creation 2005 Tickets. It is easy! Just enter your information in all of the required fields, then hit submit. Winners will be selected and notified by Jan. 1st.

Click here to go to Creation Festival Survey Page: http://www.itickets.com/contest/creation/

7. Urgent Prayer Request

Hey everyone - Deb Messner here (wife of ApologetiX lead guitarist/producer Karl Messner). I'm asking J to post this to the ApologetiX newsletter this week for a very important reason - a good friend of mine needs urgent prayers. This past weekend I spent a few days with friends in Georgia, including my friend Lorri Savage, whom I've been friends with for about 8 years or more. As soon as I saw her, I knew something was terribly wrong (and I just saw her 2 months ago). Tuesday morning I got a phone call that Lorri is in a Georgia hospital under urgent medical care - they just found out that she has breast cancer. She will start aggressive chemo and radiation in about a week or so, and she is having more scans today to see if the cancer has spread anywhere else.

This is absolutely beyond devastating to her parents (Lorri is their only child, adopted as an infant) as well as her friends. We are all in shock, to say the least, and so scared it hasn't been caught in time. Lorri is just 39 years old. Her family has requested as many prayers as possible for Lorri, and I couldn't think of any better way to help them with that request than to ask all of you for your prayers. Please ask that God gives Lorri, her family, her friends and her doctors the strength and knowledge to pull through this. I will be flying back to Georgia in a few weeks to visit with Lorri and to help in any way I can with her care.

Lorri absolutely loves greeting cards (she has been known to keep her Christmas cards on her wall for months), and I would love to go there toting along as many greeting cards and well-wishes as I can to help cheer her, and help her know that so many people are praying for her recovery. If you would like to send her a card, please send it to: Lorri Savage in c/o me (Deb Messner) at 3251 Conway Wallrose Road Baden, PA 15005. Many, many thanks for your prayers. Breast cancer runs in my family, and we have many cancer survivors, as well as the loving memories of those who have succumbed to the disease.

Deb added the following information yesterday afternoon:

The shocking news came to me a few minutes ago. Lorri's cancer has spread to her bones. Though the biopsy isn't affirmative yet on her breast cancer (although the doctors are sure that that's what it is), there is evidence of widespread cancer on her spine and in her liver as well. She has a fracture in her back caused by the cancer.

They've given Lorri at best case scenario one year, but they talked to several doctors this morning that have said that if the breast cancer biopsy comes back positive and the liver spot comes back positive, they're giving her 3 months at best.

Please pray for Lorri. Thank you. ~ Deb

Apologetically,

J.

Matthew 13:53-58
When Jesus had finished these parables, he moved on from there. Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. "Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?" they asked. "Isn't this the carpenter's son? Isn't his mother's name Mary, and aren't his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? Aren't all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?" And they took offense at him.

But Jesus said to them, "Only in his hometown and in his own house is a prophet without honor."

And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.
