Last Weekend in WV & PA
Wed., May. 1. 2013 10:17am EDT
We played on the home turf of the heroes of two of the biggest underdog sports championship teams in history last weekend, with concerts in Moundsville WV and Beaver Falls PA.
Moundsville is a small town near Wheeling WV, hometown of Bill Mazeroski, who led the 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates to an unlikely World Series victory over the mighty New York Yankees. Beaver Falls is the hometown of Joe Namath, who led the 1968 New York Jets to an improbable Super Bowl victory over the heavily favored Baltimore Colts.
As always, our fans made us feel like champions, particularly at the Beaver Falls show, where one couple came the whole way from Canada (via Princeton NJ), another woman came from Texas, and a family came from the Poconos, the opposite side of Pennsylvania.
Special thanks to:
Our concert coordinators: Ron Morgan and Tiffany Turner (Moundsville) and Gordy Richards (Beaver Falls)
Our merchandise coordinators: Rick (Moundsville) and Jenn and Krista (Beaver Falls)
Our roadies: Evan (Moundsville and Beaver Falls), Brandon (Moundsville), Dan, Sam, and Rich (Beaver Falls).
Our guest singers: The Haynie Ladies (Krista, Sarah, and Abby), who replicated their studio effort by singing back-up vocals on "For Just You" at our Beaver Falls show.
