We've gotten a lot of email from all over Canada (even the least-populous province, Nunavut) in the past six months. Here's one from Prince Edward Island:I've been a fan of yours for many years. Back in high school (I'm 25) some friends of mine introduced me to your music, which I thought was quite lame at the time. I've since developed an appreciation for desacralizing something through parody. Your songs are a little funnier each time I hear them. I appreciate the depth and variety of biblical topics you reference in your songs.
Some of my favorites are "Second Timothy," most of the songs on Keep the Change, "Smooth Grandmama," "Baa! We're Lambs," "Flurry," "Look Yourself," "Downer of a Sister," "Are You Gonna be Ike's Girl," "Somebody Sold Me," the list could go on -- your song library is huge.
Something I've always remembered is when you mentioned in "Lazy Brain" that "Jesus saved Alice, so you never know." I think about Brian Welch from Korn, Scott Stapp from Creed and others of fame and influence who have professed Christ during their carriers. I'm reminded of I Timothy 2 and while we remember to pray for the decisions of "kings and authorities," we can also remember those of social influence as well.
