Bagpiper Believes in ApologetiX

AC/DC famously sang, "It's a long way to the top if you wanna to rock 'n' roll" in a song with those words as its title. That song is part of a select few rock songs to have a genuine bagpiper. We recently discovered that ApologetiX is one of a select few Christian parody bands to have a genuine bagpiper as a fan. We noticed that one of our fans had the word "bagpiper" in his email address, so we just had to ask. Here's what he said:Yep, I'm a real bagpiper! I'm actually the only person in the world to hold a degree in music education having earned said degree with the bagpipe as my major instrument. On the competition scene I'm modestly successful, having ended the 2013 season ranked 37th out of 534 active, solo competitors in our region.
Pittsburgh is kind of known for producing good pipers, and I'm proud to call it my hometown. Now I teach bagpiping full time at a high school in a little town called Woodstock, in Virginia ("The Other Woodstock"). If you ever want to incorporate the pipes into one of your recordings, I'd be happy to drive up from VA for it!
I really believe in what you do. The first Apologetix CD I heard was Jesus Christ Morningstar, and I loved the parody "John 1:1." After that, I was hooked. I've learned a lot from your songs, and have experienced ongoing enjoyment from them for the last 12-plus years. A lot of the others have grown on me too, but with each release I especially enjoy your parodies of the oldies. Keep it up!

Woodstock VA Guess it's time for us to start working on a parodies of "Sky Pilot" (the Animals), "Mull of Kintyre" (Wings), and "It's a Long Way to the Top if You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll" (AC/DC). Or maybe we could replace the simulated bagpipes in "Run Run Away" (Slade), "In a Big Country" (Big Country), and "Copperhead Road" (Steve Earle) with the real thing.
