She Hates Appeals But Loves ApologetiX

We generally get some pretty encouraging emails (and some not-so-encouraging ones) when we sent out appeal letters, but this one was pretty special, because it's encouragement from a fan who hates appeal letters:I just want to encourage you to do what you know God is telling you to do. I am in the same financial situation and every day I ask God if I'm missing something that He wants me to do or going against Him in any way. Money has never been this tight ... but there are few times I can remember when I felt God so near or been showered with so many small miracles.
I know He's working on something big, and cannot wait to tell people the story when it unfolds ... and He's keeping me focused on plugging along, moving forward, and staying in step with Him. I suspect that's what He wants for you, too.
When I've received your emails where you've talked about the financial strain, I have never thought them inappropriate or seen it as "begging", and I hate appeal letters. I hate them so much that I wish there was a stronger word. But anyone who listens to your music and reads your newsletters should be able to see your heart, and I assume that most of us do. You also make it very clear that your first request is for people to pray for you and, in my humble opinion, you do not beg or manipulate.
I discovered your music through a friend on Facebook during a difficult time in my relationship with Christ, and it was a huge gift to me. I wanted to hear music that was honoring to Him and pointed to Him, but couldn't listen to praise music or the usual Christian fare (it just made me mad or sad). I loved the Biblical content as well as the creativity and wit, and was thrilled to be able to sing lyrics that were more in line with who I am than the original ones.
I even named my rescue kitty with the long hair Samson partly because I couldn't get "Enter Samson" out of my head. I tell everyone about you, and the lucky ones get to borrow a CD or two. I'm looking forward to the day when I have the freedom to buy from you again so that I can support this vitally important ministry.
God bless you and the work that you do!
