8. Prayer Request Update

Thanks to all of you who came out to see us in Indianapolis last Thursday! The morning mini-concert we gave for 1,000 students in the gym was a lot of fun, and the evening concert in the auditorium really had a laid-back, fun feeling that was kind of hard to describe, but it was definitely one of my favorite shows in a long time! I drove almost the whole way back to Pittsburgh after the show by myself (the other guys left early the next morning), and I'd like to thank Audio Adrenaline, who unbeknownst to them, helped keep me awake as I alternated between working on new songs and listening to their "Don't Censor Me," "Bloom," "Some Kind of Zombie," "Underdog" and "Lift" CDs (Yeah, I know they just released a new one called "Worldwide," but I didn't have that one yet)! I ended up sleeping in Wheeling WV at the same place I slept several weeks ago when my wife and I were snowbound.

Speaking of my lovely wife, Lisa, we are proud to announce that we are expecting another baby, either in in late September or early October! We've known for about a month and a half, but we wanted to wait a while before we announced it to the world. Lisa had a sonogram the other day, and Janna (age 6 1/2), Heather (almost 10 months old) and I (still a child at heart) all came along. The new baby was moving around, and we could see his or her little heart beating, even at 10-12 weeks!

Heather is crawling so fast around the house trying to unplug everything and tip over everything else! She yanked the video rewinder off the shelf the other day. Of course, we have been learning to Heatherproof the house now for her own safety and the safety of our belongings! ?She has a great sense of humor. ?We were watching an animated video called "Tails from the Ark" the other night, and a lizard stubbed his toe and said "Ow!" and Heather laughed out loud so hard, which made us all laugh out loud, which made her laugh harder. ?Then the same lizard was holding a match for light, and it burned down to his fingers, which made him say "Ow" again, which made Heather laugh hard again. ? She is going to love it when our bass player, Keith, introduces her to the Three Stooges! ?:) She loves it when Janna and I do impersonations of cartoon characters or other funny voices, too. Both of our daughters are true delights!

6. NEW APOLOGETIX T-SHIRTS

Our sincere apologies to anybody who ordered one of our new ApologetiX t-shirts ("Story of a Squirrel," "Enter Samson," "Keep the Change," and "Grace Period") and has experienced a delay in getting the shirt. Because these new shirts are much more detailed and in full color, we are using a brand new national vendor (one used by many other national artists) in an effort to give you the best quality and shirts possible. Unfortunately, there were a number of delays behind the scene in getting the artwork prepared just right, etc., etc., and that caused significant delays.

The first shirts that were completed (less than two weeks ago) were the two different "Story of a Squirrel" shirts, then "Keep the Change," then "Grace Period" (a week ago), and now finally "Enter Samson," which just happened to be the most popular of them all. Consequently, some people's ordered were delayed in order to ship the entire order at once. The order processing people at True Tunes/Division Tree, who handle our Internet CD and shirt processing have been doing their best to get your orders to you as quickly as possible. However, if you have any questions, please contact them at orderstatus@apologetix.com.

Again, we apologize for the extreme delay and for not keeping you better informed. We never dreamed that the shirts would take this long ... however, we think you will be very pleased with the way they turned out, and now that the system is set up, future delays should be eliminated. Thanks for being so patient!s

8. PRAYER REQUEST UPDATE

Last week, we mentioned that our bass player, Keith Haynie, and his wife, Krista (who is also Karl's sister), came upon a serious automobile accident involving four teenagers on the way to the concert on Saturday, and that they were able to stop, provide first aid, blankets, prayer and to call for help. Krista emailed us with a follow-up report last Wednesday, and I wanted to include that for all of you who have asked. If you have any questions about current status, you can email Krista at krista@apologetix.com. Here's her report:

"Thanks for putting the request for the 4 boys on the newsletter! What a blessing! I know how meticulous you are in getting the facts right so I feel that I have to let you know that Keith and I were not the ones who called for help. We offered our cell phone as soon as we arrived on the scene, but someone else (I believe the other driver) was calling for help.

Thanks for taking this to so many people who will pray for these boys! I am so amazed at how good God is! I hope that they will one day see things through His eyes and know how loved they are.

Last night I was able to visit 3 of the 4 boys at their different hospitals. One of the boys already went home. All I can say is praise the Lord!!!

The boy that we helped free from the driver's seat, RJ, ended up with something wrong with his hand and some internal damage to his lung and/or liver, and he really wants to go home soon.

The boy who was the front passenger, Kenny, is a lot worse off. He has a problem with his arm and I'm told that from his pelvis down has a lot of broken or crushed or shattered bones, but I'm not sure specifically which ones. Please pray for him, he was in a lot of pain when I was there and I believe that the doctors need more wisdom for his medical problems. I also believe that the Lord is dealing with Kenny right now and Kenny's heart appeared to be broken before the Lord.

Finally, I saw Sean, the boy with the gash on his head. What a miracle! All of the doctors and nurses are amazed at how well he is doing for the severe trauma that he has. His skull was actually pushed in, but his brain was still protected. He has about a 5 inch gash across the side and top of his head with LOTS of stitches, a broken shoulder, and his leg is broken in two places. For now the doctors set his leg, but if it starts to turn they will have to open him up and put rods down his leg to keep it from turning. I'm not sure of any other possible injuries. He doesn't remember the accident or who was in the car with him or when it was or where it was. He remembered his family without a problem. He is a (soon to be) walking miracle! Please keep his family in prayer.

What a testimony to God's love that He provided for those boys in the midst of something horrible. I reminded them that what the enemy has intended for bad, God will turn around and use for good. Keith and I were not the only ones who stopped. There was also a lady who was a nurse and another man as well. Everybody was pitching in and it is so nice to see that God is answering our prayers!

Thanks to EVERYONE who is praying for these boys!"

Thanks, Krista!

Apologetically,

J.

Jude 1:3
Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.
