Prayer Request from Taiwan
Sat., Jun. 27. 2015 2:15pm EDT
On Saturday, we received this message this morning from a longtime APX fan and friend living in Taiwan, Wayne Shuman:There's been a tragedy. A horrible --- unbelievable --- tragedy.... less than a mile from my house.
an explosion at a water park nearby. HUNDREDS severely burned. My wife and I managed to get there within 20 minutes of the explosion and rushed in to triage. We spent 2 1/2 hours administering critical care to burn victims. I'm in shock.
I need prayer. My town needs prayer --- the last count (30 minutes ago) was over 170 people taken to hospitals. When we finally left ---- the ambulances waiting to get into the water park were stretched over a mile --- and the bodies were still being pulled out. They were filling buses!!!!
We saved at least two peoples lives today --- I recognize the symptoms of shock and managed to alert medics to someone who had turned bad.... they immediately evac'd them. Another lady had severely burned her throat and no one caught it. I recognized the issues, correctly diagnosed the problem, pulled my wife in to yell at medics and got her put on the next ambulance out.
Please -- call for prayer support for my town, for the HUNDREDS of families who are now facing months and months of recovery (Burn victims do not heal quickly --- and there are so many right now that the hospitals are overwhelmed.) Pray that these people find and see the light of Jesus in the midst of this tragedy. Please ask your prayer warriors to stand up for my city. Please join us in praying for the victims, their families, Wayne, his wife, and their community.
