Long-Distance Voyagers to Our Concert in Indiana
Wed., Aug. 12. 2015 10:54am EDT
Longtime APX fan Peter Chapman from Perth, Australia, came to our show last Saturday in Ligonier IN. As we told Peter, it's always a g'day when an Aussie comes to see APX!
That must have been the reason J. felt led to sing Air Supply songs in sound check — surely there's no other good reason to do that — earlier in the afternoon! But, seriously, at the time, we didn't even know Peter was there.
We also had fans travel to that show from Michigan, Minnesota, and Arkansas!
The previous record for distance to an APX show in Indiana was held by Curtis and Clinton Chicoine, who made a 1,675-mile trip from the Canadian province of Saskatchewan to our concert in Cambridge City IN in July 2013. Peter traveled about 11,000 miles!
We don't know what it is about our shows in Indiana. They call it the "Crossroads of America," but for our concerts, it's turning into the "Crossroads of the World"!
By the way, we told Curtis in Saskatchewan that his record had been broken, and he emailed back this reply: "We will have to come see you play in Australia some time."
