ApologetiX in Indianapolis IN, Cleveland OH
Wed., Mar. 5. 2003 11:20pm EST

J. Jackson, lead singer for ApologetiX (That Christian Parody Band) here.

Thanks to everybody who showed up and sold out our two homecoming shows in Pittsburgh this past weekend! We had a wonderful time, and we did two very different shows, featuring widely varying set lists, which made it extra fun! We caught it all on videotape, so if you missed it, look for it to be part of our upcoming DVD project later this year!

I just got word that we will be back in the Pittsburgh area on April 25 (Monaca PA), so we'll be looking forward to that one! Thanks to everybody who prayed for my voice. I'd been very congested and under the weather even for the previous evening's sound check, but God was extremely faithful, and I had no problems on Friday or Saturday night! I definitely felt God's presence and power at work on both night's, and I was very thankful!

5. KARL'S KORNER

Karl Messner, lead guitarist and producer for ApologetiX (That Christian Parody Band) here.

With the awesome, warm response we received at our two capacity shows in Cranberry this weekend we've completed filming for our DVD and the editing and mastering will start within a couple weeks - we'll keep you up to date on that cool project! Great to see so many friendly and even faraway faces! Great reviews keep pouring in along with wonderful stories of rededication!

And we have a special person among us!! April Baker from Houston, TX joined our fan club today! What's the big deal? Well, she is the 25,000th member of our fan club!!!

6. COMMENTS FROM THIS PAST WEEKEND'S CONCERT

We got this lovely email from Donna Galbraith, the lady who coordinated our two concerts at Cranberry Community United Presbyterian Church in Cranberry/Pittsburgh PA last weekend:

"Karl: Just wanted to thank you, J, Keith and Bill for the wonderful performances on Friday and Sat nights! Last weekend was truly a fantastic experience for our church! This was the biggest event we ever undertook and you made it all so easy! The church was buzzing with excitement yet on Sunday morning! You 4 are truly doing a wonderful ministry by touching and inspiring so many people to know and receive the Grace of God! It has truly been a privilege to get to know all of you and your families. You have certainly touched the youth of our church as well as all those who attended. May God continue to Bless your ministry. You will be in my prayers and we will be following your adventures! Hope to see you all again and can't wait for the DVD" God Bless, Donna

We also received the following email from another member of the church where the concerts were held:

I needed to let you know that I really enjoyed the concert on Friday evening at CCUPC. I have been a member there for almost 13 years and never thought that I'd enjoy the event. Well, I was wrong...my two girls 5 and 8 went with me and loved it too!!. Your talk before the last two songs really hit home...I was going to leave since the girls were sleeping the their seats but something told me to stay, then you stated to talk and WOW..thank you so very much for giving me the courage to ask God for his help in my daily needs....I know that yes I have to work at this too but I know that God will help. I have been in a Bible study for 7 months reading the book of Romans and since then I have grown closer to God but now hearing this from you I know that it isn't that hard to ask for help in needed times or anytime. Keep up the awesome job and ministry. Linda Watkins

Thanks to all the rest of you who wrote such encouraging emails. We all had a great time, didn't we? God is awesome!

8. PRAYER REQUEST

Our bass player, Keith Haynie, and his wife, Krista (who is also Karl's sister), came upon a serious automobile accident involving four teenagers on the way to the concert on Saturday, and they were able to stop, provide first aid, blankets, prayer and to call for help. Please pray for those involved in the accident. Here's a report Krista sent to the band members Monday:

PLEASE pray for the 4 teens that were in the car accident on Saturday afternoon. There is a little blip on the Beaver County Times website (Marion Twp. Car accident), but not a lot. I talked with a boy at our high school today who is best friends with the boy that had the big gash on his head and it does not look good. His name is Sean and he has severe head trauma, among other things, and is not expected to make it. He is
16. Two of the other boys are still in AGH, one with damage to his liver. They are all 17 and under.

I know it was not a coincidence that the Lord brought us there at that time with plenty of warm blankets and first aid training and LOTS of out loud prayer with all 4 boys. I do not know if any are Christians, but I prayed for God to draw them closer to Him and I hope He answers my prayer.

PLEASE take just one minute out of your busy lives for these children. Thanks, Krista

Apologetically,

J.
