"Isn't Wasn't Ain't" (Director's Cut): Save $3 and Get a Bonus CD
Wed., Feb. 9. 2005 11:52pm EST

Now's your chance to save $3 by pre-ordering our "Isn't Wasn't Ain't (Director's Cut)" CD, which should be available to ship later this month. The Director's Cut has two additional tracks from the original "Isn't Wasn't Ain't" in 1993 that weren't on last year's 10th-anniversary reissue CD. Pre-order now and save $3 and get a bonus CD while supplies last.

Here's the scoop: In December 2003, we released a limited-edition CD to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our 1993 cassette, "Isn't Wasn't Ain't." We've since discontinued that CD, so -- like the original cassette -- it's now a collector's item. However, we've added a lot of fans to the fold in the last year who've never had a chance to hear "Isn't Wasn't Ain't." Many of them have taken advantage of our recent sale and purchased the complete ApologetiX library, which contains all of our CDs that are available in stores, but doesn't include our fan-club-only releases, which are not available in stores.

Consequently, we've decided to release the "Isn't Wasn't Ain't (Director's Cut)" CD. As the name suggests, this version is bigger and better than last year's 10th-anniversary reissue. We're having it duplicated professionally, and we're adding two tracks which were on the original "Isn't Wasn't Ain't" cassette in 1993, but not on last year's CD. Those additional tracks are "Mrs. Protestant," a parody of "Mrs. Robinson" by Simon & Garfunkel, and "God I Like About You," a parody of "What I Like About You" by the Romantics. That increases the total number of tracks on the new "Isn't Wasn't Ain't" CD from 18 to 20. We're also giving it a CD insert this time for those of you who want to have something to display in your CD binders.

Like our other fan-club-only releases, "Isn't Wasn't Ain't (Director's Cut)" is not available in stores.  It's something we're making available especially for our online fans.

The project should be finished later this month, so you need to pre-order now to take advantage of the pre-order offer: $3 off plus a free bonus CD while supplies last! Please note: If you order "Isn't Wasn't Ain't (Director's Cut) or "Apol-acoustiX" along with other CDs your entire order will be shipped together when those two CD's are available, which enables us to keep your shipping cost down.

Pre-order "Isn't Wasn't Ain't (Director's Cut)" or "Apol-acoustiX" now and save $3 off the $12.99 price. The first 600 people who pre-order either CD will also receive a free copy of our "Have Yourself a Parody Little Christmas" CD, which is no longer available for purchase.

Warning: If you're looking for stellar performances, "Isn't Wasn't Ain't: The Director's Cut" isn't, wasn't, ain't the CD for you. It's a good time capsule from 1993 that will let you see how we sounded in our formative years, and it contains some great parody lyrics, but we had a lot to learn.  Our goal has always been to make each album better than the previous one.  Consequently, for many years we were hesitant to re-release "Isn't Wasn't Ain't" on CD, because we didn't want it to be the first taste of ApologetiX for a new listener.  However, we know that many of you already have everything else we've released and are eager for more.

Here's a complete track listing:

Isn't Wasn't Ain't ("Livin' Lovin' Maid" by Led Zeppelin)
David and Goliath ("Paperback Writer" by the Beatles)
Lions ("Signs" by Five Man Electrical Band and Tesla)
Patients ("Patience" by Guns n' Roses)
Help Me, Rhoda ("Help Me, Rhonda" by the Beach Boys)

Be Like David Was ("Feel Like Makin' Love" by Bad Company)
Ain't That a Miracle ("Pink Houses" by John Cougar Mellencamp)
Faith Pt. 2 ("Faith" by George Michael)
Christians Doin' Music ("Listen to the Music" by the Doobie Brothers)
What is and Will Forever Be ("What is What Should Never Be" by Led Zeppelin)
Matthew 9 ("I Feel Fine" by the Beatles)
He Really Got Mad ("You Really Got Me" by the Kinks and Van Halen)

Verynice City ("Paradise City" by Guns n' Roses)
God I Like About You ("What I Like About You" by the Romantics)
Mrs. Protestant ("Mrs. Robinson" by Simon & Garfunkel)

Here's a great funny story about our "Isn't Wasn't Ain't" CD from a fan named Matt Peckhart:

"Guys, thought you would enjoy this story about 'Isn't Wasn't Ain't.' This past weekend my in-laws as well as some other family members and myself were painting the new drywall in our house.  I brought the radio out and put three of your CD's in the player on shuffle.  One of them was the 10th anniversary issue of 'Isn't Wasn't Ain't,' which is one of my top three ApologetiX favorites.

"Now, my mother-in-law retired from teaching music at the elementary school after about 30+ years and still teaches piano, plays the guitar, and is the director of our small church choir.  Anyway, the song 'David & Goliath' comes on and it is just about finished when she says the following.  'That takes a lot of talent to do what they're doing.  The tendancy is to make it sound harmonious and nice.'  She was serious, but in a very praising way. Finally, thank you for all of your work.  It's touched more people than you know."

Editor's Note: To add to the fun and humor when we recorded "Isn't Wasn't Ain't," we invited over some friends and had them join us for background vocals, which produced some amusing results.
