ApX Men & Women Attend Pirates Faith Night

The ApologetiX men and ladies got together at PNC Park in Pittsburgh Wednesday night (with Keith's son, Sam, subbing for Keith's wife, Krista) to attend the fourth annual Pirates Faith Night. Longtime ApX friend and webmaster John Taylor and his wife, Kathy, came all the way from Philadelphia to be with us, too.
The game lasted about four hours and the home team lost, but it was great chance for the band family to hang out, and a number of ApX fans in attendance stopped us to say hello. The testimony time afterward was powerful, as players (many Pirates and even some Brewers), and their wives got up and gave testimonies and answered questions from kids.
Pirates manager Clint Hurdle gave the closing message. Pirates who participated included Arquimedes Caminero, Gerrit Cole, David Freese, Eric Fryer, Josh Harrison, Jared Hughes, Matt Joyce, Andrew McCutchen, Mark Melancon, Jordy Mercer, and Sean Rodriguez. Brewers who participated included Chase Anderson, Scooter Gennett, Kirk Nieuwenhuis, and Will Middlebrooks.
Although he's the face of the franchise, McCutchen has been having his most difficult season as a hitter. It was great to hear him talk openly and honestly about it and also talk about this passage:
James 1:2-3
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
