Dubois Distinctions: Last Saturday in Review
Tue., Feb. 1. 2005 10:21am EST
Thanks to everybody who came to see us in Dubois PA this past Saturday. You packed the house -- how awesome!
Special thanks to our good friend, Jenn "The Super Chick" Kipp, who celebrated her 32nd ApologetiX concert (in four states and one province) the way she has done many of the others -- by helping at our merchandise table.
ApologetiX lead singer J. Jackson also got a special surprise visit from his former college roommate, post-college housemate, and bandmate, Tom Dellaquila. Although the two had kept in touch via email and phone, they hadn't seen each other in almost 14 years! J. wrote many of his first lyrical compositions to music composed by Tom.
On the way to Dubois, J. also got to see the childhood home of ApologetiX keyboardist Bill Hubauer in nearby Corsica PA. Several band members got to meet Bill's sister, who attended the concert.
Those experiences provided some serious refutation to the rumor that Bill Hubauer is actually an android pre-programmed with all of the music, ability and techniques of the world's great keyboardists. Amazing as it may seem, a real human being really can play that well! Guess we should have learned our lesson from "Larry Boy & the Rumor Weed."
But the best news we receieved in Dubois was from a father who said his stepson told him he'd just "asked God into his heart" at the concert. That's what it's all about!
