ApologetiX in Alabama/Atlanta Area, Punxsutawney P
Sat., Jan. 25. 2003 11:48pm EST

J. Jackson, lead singer for ApologetiX (That Christian Parody Band) here.

Thanks to all of you who braved the snow to see us at the theater in Elkhart IN last Saturday! What a beautiful place and a great crowd! And if D.B., our soundman from that night, is reading this email (or if you know his email address, please forward this to him), you did an awesome job, dude ó one of the best monitor mixes I ever had ó and you were NICE, too!

We actually have the weekend off ... from concerts, that is. The four of us are always monitoring our email and working on internal projects when we're at home. I don't know what it's like in your corner of the world, but it's bitter cold here in Pittsburgh, PA. My wife, Lisa, never experienced this in her old Kentucky home. We've had quite a bit of snow this week and this year, too. Our older daughter, Janna, had school cancelled today. So it's nice to be with the family and not on the road this weekend.

We've just added a last-minute concert next Saturday in Alabama, although it's actually closer to Atlanta GA then it is to Birmingham. We'll also be playing on Ground Hog Day, next Sunday, in Punxsutawney, PA, legendary home of world famous ground hog, Punxsutawney Phil. We're told the town is just a sea of humanity on that day. We'll be scanning the crowd for Bill Murray, not to mention my old college roommate, Lance Craig, a fellow six-foot-sixer, who hails from Punxsutawney whom I haven't seen in a decade.

1. Next Saturday: Lanett AL (1:30 From Atlanta GA, 2:45 from Birmingham)
2. Next Sunday (Ground Hog Day): Punxsutawney PA (1:35 from Pittsburgh)
3. Thanks from Keith

3. THANKS FROM KEITH

Our bass player, Keith Haynie, would like to thank all of who have expressed your condolences to him and to those who sent donations to his brother's family. Keith's older brother, Ray, 47, died suddenly of a heart attack last week, leaving behind his wife, Kay, and two sons, Justin, 21, and Josh, 17.

Ray's family was quite overwhelmed with the thousands of dollars involved in the cost of the funeral arrangements, especially considering the fact that Ray was laid off from his job at the time of his death. However, they were subsequently blown away with the generosity shown by ApologetiX fans who had never even met Ray or his family but sent donations. Your generosity made a significant dent in the costs and was a strong witness for Christ to Ray's family.

For anybody who still wishes to make a donation to Ray's family, the address is below. Please make checks payable to his wife, Kay Haynie.

Kay Haynie 239 West Venango, Apt. B Mercer PA 16137

Please keep Ray's family and Keith's family in your prayers. If you'd like to send Keith an email, please send it to keith@apologetix.com. Thanks!

John 8:58-59
"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!" At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.
