ApologetiX in NM, KY and WA
Wed., Dec. 11. 2002 11:51pm EST
J. Jackson, lead singer for ApologetiX (That Christian Parody Band) here.
This weekend, we attempt to boldly go where no band has gone before ... back to back nights in New Mexico and Kentucky ... the second time this year. Don't ask me how we ended up with that combination twice. We'll take eight flights to accomplish it, but if it turns out as well as last time, we may just have to do it again :)

3. CHRISTMAS CD AND NEW SHIRTS
In case you missed Karl's Thanksgiving email about our re-mastered Christmas CD and new shirts, I've included again in this week's newsletter:
Last year, just for our fan club, we put together a 6 song "EP" of parodies that dealt with Christmas topics. We never made it available in stores or to anyone not in our fan club. We'd planned on recording the rest of it and releasing it THIS Christmas, but 100 concerts later...
However, there are four times as many people in the fan club now than there were then, so over 15,000 people weren't even around for it, so we've decided to re-release "Have Yourself a Parody Little Christmas." What's NEW however, is we sent it to Nashville to professionally master it, and this year it comes with a keepsake note that says it's just for our best buds ;)
We're working on a bunch of very cool shirts that aren't going to be released to the public yet, and we thought we'd let YOU have first crack at them. There are 5 new designs-each more clever than the last. Wait until you see what we've done with "Story of a Squirrel" (read the "humungous blow up of the back" extra link in the description!) and the coolest shirt in the world: "Enter Samson."
We can't guarantee anything by Christmas, but we'll sure try and the early bird gets the worm. So, take a look:
Secret ApologetiX Holiday Giftbag: http://www.apologetix.com/secret/
(The order button is at the bottom right of every product page- you can order any product from the order page) YOUR VOTE COUNTS ;) All five designs may not be available for long- we'll probably only keep the ones that our fans like the most. After you order, please send your thoughts of the shirt designs to shirts@Apologetix.com so we can decide which ones to actually make available to the world.
4. A COOL EMAIL WE RECEIVED
This email came in recently from Gregory Johnston in Massachusetts:
"Hey guys! I just wanted to drop you a note telling you about how I discovered your music and how it has really touched me.
Let me start by saying that when it comes to music, Christian in particular, I am very old school. My faith was nurtured by Keith Green, Phil Keaggy, Kerry Livgren, and 2nd Chapter of Acts. My faith was challenged by Glenn Kaiser and the Resurrection Band. My faith was enriched by the stories and songs of Larry Norman and Randy Stonehill. Yes, I am very old school.
So about a year ago, I was discussing the Eagles song, "Hotel California" on a Kerry Livgren mailing list. One of the members of the list sent me an MP3 of this song called "Hotel Can't Afford Ya". My first thought? "This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard." No kidding! I just didn't get it. But I listened to it again, and my second thought was, "these guys are somereally fine musicians". Listened to it a third time and thought, "these lyrics are actually pretty clever!". So onto my back shelf I put the MP3 and didn't really think about it again.
Skip ahead to early August of this year at the Inside Out Soul Festival at Loon Mountain, NH. ApologetiX is playing two shows, one main stage and the closing side stage show. After seeing you guys perform, no a better word, minister, I really get it! Your love for the Lord and His word spills out with every note played and every word sung. Your passion for young people and helping them to become Biblically literate is wonderful. After your Sunday night performance, I bought four of your CD's. I rank them among my favorites, right next to "Only Visiting this Planet", "No Compromise", and "Town To Town".
Bottom line, keep the faith guys! You are doing His work and you are missionaries to a generation that desperately needs to hear about the Love of Jesus. Stay strong! And yes, I now get it!"
