3. CHRISTMAS CD AND NEW SHIRTS

In case you missed Karl's Thanksgiving email about our re-mastered Christmas CD and new shirts, I've included again in this week's newsletter:

I have a couple surprises for you- are you psyched? Last year, just for our fan club, we put together a 6 song "EP" of parodies that dealt with Christmas topics. We never made it available in stores or to anyone not in our fan club. We'd planned on recording the rest of it and releasing it THIS Christmas, but 100 concerts later...

However, there are four times as many people in the fan club now than there were then, so over 15,000 people weren't even around for it, so we've decided to re-release "Have Yourself a Parody Little Christmas." What's NEW however, is we sent it to Nashville to professionally master it, and this year it comes with a keepsake note that says it's just for our best buds ;)

We're working on a bunch of very cool shirts that aren't going to be released to the public yet, and we thought we'd let YOU have first crack at them. There are 5 new designs-each more clever than the last. Wait until you see what we've done with "Story of a Squirrel" (read the "humungous blow up of the back" extra link in the description!) and the coolest shirt in the world: "Enter Samson."

We can't guarantee anything by Christmas, but we'll sure try and the early bird gets the worm. So, take a look:

Secret ApologetiX Holiday Giftbag: http://www.apologetix.com/secret/

(The order button is at the bottom right of every product page- you can order any product from the order page) YOUR VOTE COUNTS ;) All five designs may not be available for long- we'll probably only keep the ones that our fans like the most. After you order, please send your thoughts of the shirt designs to shirts@Apologetix.com so we can decide which ones to actually make available to the world.

4. GRATEFUL FOR THIS FAN

We recently received an email from Jon Eklof, a Chicago-based fan who may hold the record for a fan attending the most ApologetiX concerts in different states in a year. We'd like to share a few quotes from that email with you:

"Since I first saw ApologetiX in Janesville, WI earlier this spring, I've been to a total of NINE concerts in FIVE states, including once in Alabama, when I was on my way back to Minnesota from a business trip. (I must hold some sort of record for that week. I saw ApologetiX on Wednesday in Hanceville, AL...and then again in St. Paul, MN two days (and over 1,000 miles!) later on Friday! You guys probably started to think I was stalking you!)

"My family has seen ApologetiX SEVEN times...and we're still planning on traveling to Toledo, OH to see you On Dec.
6. Why do we drive so many miles to see you? Simple. We're blessed every time we attend an ApologetiX concert. Your hearts and desire to minister come through every time we see you. Our 12-year-old daughter absolutely LOVES ApologetiX...and she doesn't listen to a lot of different groups! She's pretty picky...and you've made the cut in her book!

We've introduced several other people to ApologetiX...and there are at least two other families we've brought to an ApologetiX concert that ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOU! In 2003, we're going to try to bring even MORE people to your concerts. You haven't seen the last of the "unofficial Chicago fan club" yet!"

If Jon keeps that up, we may have to send him a bunch of tie-dyed shirts and a VW van! Seriously, though, we were blown away!

5. APOLOGETIX GETS PLUGGED IN AGAIN

Back in the nineties, the trend was to go "unplugged." In ApologetiX, we've seen a reverse trend in the past couple years. Not only did we sing "Plug my life into Jesus" on our "Keep the Change" CD last year, we've also just made our second appearance in Focus on the Family's "Plugged In" Magazine, which first ApologetiX as a cover story in April 2001. The December 2002 issue contains a very favorable review of our "Grace Period" CD, including this excerpt from this month:

"Teens will enjoy smart, musically impressive versions of modern singles by Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd, Smash Mouth, Train and Uncle Kracker. Parents raised in the days before Christian music was an option will appreciate fresh, spiritualized takes on classic tunes by The Beatles, Styx, Rush, The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Beach Boys and more. In addition to being lots of fun, ėGrace Period' offers families rich discussion material, as well as a tool to help teen steeped in secular music realize that there's more to it than meets the ear."

6. NEW APOLOGETIX YAHOO GROUP AND WEBSITE

One of our fans by the name of Becca recently made us aware of a new ApologetiX Yahoo group. She says it's "a place of various things -- a place to talk about concerts, new albums, news, to share pictures, Bible readings, and/or just to fellowship and chat with other ApologetiX fans/friends and other believers in Christ."

If you're interested, we're passing the word along to you. Here's the link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/apologetiXfriends/

Another fan, Andrew, has informed us of his new ApologetiX website. Here's the link: http://www12.brinkster.com/apologetix

We are not responsible for the content on any sites or groups aside from apologetix.com, but we do try to keep you informed of new ones as others inform us, and we're pretty flattered that others find us worth talking about!
