Jimmy "Vegas" Tanner Recovering After Surgery
Fri., Jul. 24. 2020 8:05pm EDT
ApologetiX drummer Jimmy "Vegas" Tanner had quite a day on Tuesday. At 2 a.m., his wife, Eve, had to take him to the emergency room at Allegheny General Hospital, because he'd been having severe abdominal pain.
As it turned out, Jimmy had a huge kidney stone (10 mm) which needed to come out immediately … or at least almost immedately. The doctors were finally able to perform the surgery about at about 12:30 p.m., and he was able to go home that night.
We are grateful that the doctors were able to take care of things so quickly with an operation that enabled him to be discharged that same day.
Jimmy has been with the band since 2005, and we've grown quite fond of him. :) As if he weren't already valuable enough to ApologetiX, he and Eve built a studio in their home in 2012, and he's been been our recording engineer ever since.
We got the following update from Eve today: "Recovery is going well, but pain is still a problem we need prayer for."
If it's prayer they need, it's prayer they'll get. As Jimmy often says, "Let's do this!"
