Clues for 2022 Single #17

We hope to release our 17th single of 2022 by the end of this weekend, Lord willing. We're a little behind because of Jimmy's injury, but one song is ready to go, and all the parts for the other are already recorded. It's in the mixing stage.
Here are your clues. Want to really impress us? See if you can spot all of the references in each entry. We counted a total of 11.
SONG #1
David felt Israel had gone too long without a house for God, so he told Nathan he wanted to build one. The prophet agreed, but before he could turn around and count to ten, God told him David's son would be the one to do it. But that didn't mean there was absolutely nothing David could do. God showed him how to make a special start.
SONG #2
Though imprisoned on the Isle of Patmos, the Apostle John kept hanging tough, and he'd hold on till the end, even after his brother and the other Apostles were martyred. After all, he'd seen Jesus come back to life. The Good News he shared back then still sounds good today. Make sure his words aren't wasted on you or twisted by you.
