Last Wkd in NH (Soul Fest), PA (Erie) & IN (Indy)
Mon., Aug. 8. 2005 11:30pm EDT
Thanks to everybody who worked so hard to make our concerts last weekend in New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Indiana such great successes.
We have to confess that when we stopped off for the night in Syracuse NY on Thursday, things didn't look too promising. We'd mistakenly booked a motel in the bad part of town. A neighbor even came from across the street and told us so after we pulled in, although we would have figured that out for ourselves! Thankfully, God preserved our van and equipment overnight.
Thanks to Larry Davis, Beth Davis, Chelsea Grossman and all the other helpers at Soul Fest in New Hampshire on Friday who helped us unload and set up our equipment and CD table so quickly. Between serious traffic delays on the way to the site and our start time getting moved up to 3 p.m., we only had half an hour to get it all done. But God provided many helpers, and we pulled it off!
Thanks to Don Riefstahl for organizing Saturday's concert in North East PA (near Erie), and thanks to his mom, Clover, for overseeing the CD table. Thanks also to Ricque Morrow, her dad, Mark Bradley Morrow from WCTL, and the church staff for all their help. The event was well attended and well received. You'd never know it was put together in just 17 days!
Not to be outdone, Justin Field coordinated Sunday's concert in Shelbyville IN (near Indianapolis) in just 13 days, after Brent Callahan got the ball rolling. And the place was packed -- one of the best-organized concerts we've seen all year, as was Saturday in North East. Like Don Riefstahl, Justin is college age, but both of them
displayed leadership and organizational skills beyond their years.
Thanks to Justin, Brent, Scott and the rest of the crew from Sunday's show, including all the church members who prepared that wonderful dinner for us. Thanks also to the guys from WJCF (Pat, Keith and Aaron) who not only did a "live" radio broadcast of the concert, but also ran our CD table!
