See You at the Pole Went Great!
Fri., Sep. 23. 2005 12:41pm EDT
It was 2:30pm on Wednesday afternoon in Ohio and the buses were running outside the school ready to scoop up the kids and get them home. Some of them were held up a few minutes, because a couple dozen kids agreed to meet in front of the school and pray for the school.
Our Karl gathered with them, sat down in the grass and like a bunch of hippies, sang some worship songs, and prayed for the school. Started in 1991, "See You at the (flag)Pole" groups have occurred at many schools around the world. Columbiana High School's Fellowship of Christian Athletes invited Karl to come and share. Everyone had a great time and we came home to this encouraging email from faculty advisor Bob Kimpel:
Thanks again Karl!
Your message of Love and Fun in Christ really was awesome at our See-You-at-the-Pole event in Columbiana, OH on Wednesday! We welcome you back anytime. Please keep us in your prayers as we reach out through FCA at Columbiana schools. Jesus is Lord!
Bob Kimpel, Columbiana FCA
That appearance led to many more such invitations and maybe we'll be able to do it again. It just so happens that we were in town, and Karl lives just a quick drive from that school.
