Finding Netherlands: Holland Discovers ApologetiX
Mon., Dec. 5. 2005 11:15pm EST
ApologetiX has played in Holland a couple of times over the past few years. They even gave us each a pair of personalized wooden shoes!
But that was Holland MI. The closest we ever got to the actual country was the Dutch family that lived up the street from J. when he was a kid, the Bonhams (no relation to Led Zeppelin's John Bonham, although that's the closest we ever got to them, too :)
Recently, however, we discovered that the actual country of Holland is playing our parodies! Here's an email we received a few days ago:
I'm from Holland, and I am a dj at a local radio station, called Radio Lelystad. We have a Gospel program called Filter. It's every Saturday at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Almost every show we play at least one song of you, because I'm a big fan of yours.
We have a web adress: www.radiolelystad.nl/filter
We broadcast on:
106.9 Fm (ether) - Lelystad
91.1 FM (cable) - Lelystad

Jochem de Groot
Netherlands
That's cool! Thanks, Jochem!
Maybe someday we'll be as big over there as that Dutch duo from the 1980's, Holland Oates. But, seriously, folks, the rock band Golden Earring does hail from Holland. They had two hits about a decade apart, "Radar Love" and "Twilight Zone."
