This Past Weekend in Indy, Detroit & Cleveland
Mon., Feb. 20. 2006 8:26am EST
We're happy to report that Indianapolis, Detroit, and Cleveland still rock. We did our part this past weekend with concerts in the metro areas of those cities: Danville IN, Oxford MI, and Wickliffe OH.
We got a good look at the Indy and Cleveland city skylines after our Friday's and Sunday's concerts, and our hotel after Saturday's concert was right down the road from the Palace of Auburn Hills, home to the Detroit Pistons basketball team, and the old Pontiac Silverdome, where the Pittsburgh Steelers recently trained for Super Bowl XL.
One of the highlights came Saturday night when the concert promoter's nine-year-old son informed us that one of his classmates and teammates on the school basketball team told him he'd accepted Christ during our message near the end of the concert.
Special thanks to:
our concert coordinators: Michael Brooks (Danville), Randy Reason (Oxford), and Brandy Schillace (Wickliffe)
Here's a nice email Brandy sent us the day after the Wickliffe concert:
I just wanted to send you a note to say THANK YOU--the concert was excellent and everyone really enjoyed it. We hope to have you back again soon (in fact, the staff members were already talking about new booking dates...even before you were completely packed up.) You are certainly welcome back here anytime.
Thanks also to:
our roadies and helpers: Micah (who's been to 60-70 concerts in 13 states in the past four and a half years, but because he often travels with us, he doesn't hold the official fan record for most concerts attended), Greg, Heidi, Larry, and Beth
our merchandise table coordinators Keith, Rein, Tori, Asher, and Mark (Danville); Honour, Shawn, Ryan, Becky , and Heidi (Oxford); and Tari, Chuck, Courtney, Morton, and Jessica
WJTL for the radio promotion, interview and live radio feed from Friday's concert.
Honorable mention to our good friend Vicki Liniminskivich. Sunday's concert was her 22nd ApologetiX concert.
