Encouragement After Losing Loved Ones

Here's a special email from a high-school fan who came to see us in Toledo OH this past weekend:
I was at the Toledo concert ... and I also went to the concert when ApologetiX came to Tiffin about this time last year. I just wanted to email you and to let you know that I really like what you do. It's great that bands like ApologetiX can get the word of God out in such a fantastic way.
Both my great grandpa and and my other grandpa last year died, and it was really hard on my faith as a Christian. When ApologetiX came to Tiffin last year, it really brought my faith in God back. I thought He was punishing me, but now I know that they are in a better place, and that hopefully I will see them both again someday.
I just really wanted to thank you for giving me that faith back that was gone, that little extra boost. Thank you for everything!

Editor's note: The Bible has many encouraging verses for those who lose loved ones. Here are two that have brought us much comfort over the years:
Isaiah 57:1-2
The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death.
In other words, death is not some unfair punishment for a righteous person -- but a reward -- the threshold to a much better place.
1 Corinthians 2:9
However as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him" ...
