APOL-ACOUSTIX

One of the big trends in the '90's was for artists to release "Unplugged" projects. Everyone from Clapton to KISS did it ... except us. That's ironic, considering we played a lot of acoustic stuff in our early days at Bible studies and coffee houses. Of course, we wouldn't be too keen on releasing any of those old performances. We wish we'd known then what we know now in terms of playing, singing, songwriting and recording. Well, we can't rewrite history, but we can rewrite, re-perform, and rerecord some of those old songs (and some newer ones), being able to apply a decade's worth of experience. So that's what we did.

Prepare yourself for "Apol-acoustiX," the first all-acoustic ApologetiX CD. "Apol-acoustiX" features 12 acoustic parodies (11 of which have never appeared in any form on an ApologetiX CD) of some of the biggest names in rock and roll history, including Elvis, Bill Haley & His Comets, the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, the Doors, Simon & Garfunkel and the Monkees, plus more-modern fare by Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, Green Day and Extreme.

1. Talk About the Lord (Rock Around the Clock by Bill Haley & His Comets)
2. Don't Be Fooled (Don't Be Cruel by Elvis Presley)
3. The Sounds of Silas (The Sounds of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel)
4. We're Not Gonna Drown (When I Come Around by Green Day)
5. Mediterranean Wholebook News (Subterranean Homesick Blues by Bob Dylan)
6. Scripture (Picture by Kid Rock & Sheryl Crow)
7. Last Rain the Clouds Spill (Last Train to Clarksville by the Monkees)
8. Eight Ways to Be (Eight Days a Week by the Beatles)
9. More Than Works (More Than Words by Extreme)
10. The Trinity (Thank You by Led Zeppelin)
11. Two-Time Baby/Lord's House News (Love Me Two Times/Roadhouse Blues by the Doors)
12. Yes Today (Yesterday by the Beatles)

This is no quickie recording.  The guitar and vocal parts have taken about as long to record for this project as they do for our regular releases. It's acoustic, but that doesn't mean it isn't perfectionistic!
