1. APOLOGETIX IN MISSOURI AGAIN

Thanks to everybody who packed the concerts in Camdenton and Cape Girardeau MO this past weekend! You guys were awesome! The response was so great, that we booked another show in Missouri this weekend. Hope to see you there!

We almost didn't make it to the Camdenton show last Friday. We drove to Indianapolis IN on Thursday night, but when we assembled the next morning, the van wouldn't start! Thankfully, the hotel manager knew a mobile repair guy named Darrel, who came out and fixed things for us, and God allowed us to do both shows on Friday night as planned.

Sat., Feb. 16, 2002 at 7 p.m.
Lebanon Church of the Nazarene

2. APOLOGETIX IN WISCONSIN AND INDIANA NEXT WEEKEND

We know that people in Wisconsin love cheesy stuff, but we can't believe how often they invite us back across the state line! Rumor has it that former ApologetiX drummer Fred Behanna (of Biblical Graffiti and Spoofernatural fame, plus some percussion on Keep the Change) may also be in attendance! We're also looking forward to playing in Indiana again. With all the long trips we make through the Midwest, we end up staying in Indiana more than we're playing in Indiana.

3. CELEBRATE OUR 10TH ANNIVERSARY, BILL'S FIRST ANNIVERSARY AND KARL'S BIRTHDAY IN CONCERT!

On March 27, 1992, ApologetiX played its debut concert at a place called the Paradise Club in Irwin PA, not too far from Pittsburgh. Don't look for it; as Amy Grant and Joni Mitchell sang, "They paved Paradise and they put up a parking lot." Seriously, the site is now a parking lot for an industrial supply company.

As ApologetiX fans know, we rarely get to play in our hometown anymore. Well, it just so happens, not through our planning, that we are going to be in Pittsburgh for a show within a week of that 10th Anniversary date ó March 21, 2002 ó and not only that, it's Karl's birthday! As an added bonus, it's Bill's first anniversary as full-time ApologetiX drummer (his first show as our official drumer was March 24, 2001).

We are honored to be asked to headline a special concert featuring a number of Pittsburgh's best-loved Christian bands, including Ten Point Ten (home of Bill Hubauer, ApologetiX keyboard guru) and 121 Mercy Street (home of Scott Gilbert, Keith's stunt double on bass for those rare concerts Keith has missed in his six and a half years with us). In fact, I hear Bill may join us onstage on keyboards (like he did at Creation 2000).

33% DISCOUNT FOR APOLOGETIX FANS WHO ORDER NOW

All this adds up to an event you won't want to miss! And for a limited time, the concert promoter is offering a 33% discount on tickets to ApologetiX fans on our e-mail newsletter list. If you order your tickets before this weekend, you can get them for just $8.

For ticket info, e-mail Chris Girard at tcg233@libcom.com Tell her you're an ApologetiX eFan and she'll know you get the discount! There's also a special for families.

Thursday, March 21, 2002 5-11 pm Westminster Presbyterian Church 2040 Washington Road Pittsburgh, PA (Upper Saint Clair) Contact: Ron Felgar 412-853-9379 tcg233@libcom.com

4. APOLOGETIX IN HAWAII AT LAST

Believe it or not, one of the first places where ApologetiX got major airplay and major distribution in stores was Hawaii, thanks largely to airplay on KAIM in Honolulu. Well, we just got the official word that we are now scheduled to play a series of concerts in Hawaii, September 11-14. Isn't God good?

5. BILL'S NEW HAIR AND DRUMS

One of the fun things about being in a Christian rock band as a full-time job is that you can try certain things with your personal appearance that wouldn't fly in the corporate world. Bill Rieger, who will soon be celebrating his first anniversary as our full-time drummer, believes that wholeheartedly and wholeHAIRedly.

Possibly inspired by the "Paul is dead" rumors that helped the Beatles sell millions of albums, Bill has apparently tried to start a "Bill is red" rumor. If you've been to a concert in the past month or so, you've been treated to Bill's new "redhead" look. But, unless you've seen us in the past week or so, you ain't seen nothin' yet! How do we describe how RED Bill's new "do" is? Well, let's just say that we walked into a Bob Evans restaurant in Indianapolis last Friday, and the manager came up to Bill and said, "Are you Ronald?"

Later, when we got to a McDonald's, the staff didn't make as much of a fuss, but they DO get to see Ronald all the time, after all. By Sunday's trip home, Bill had to decided to play along and actually asked us to have his picture taken with the life-size Ronald on the bench. My kingdom for a camera! Lest you worry that Bill might be a tad sensitive to these observations, you need to know that he still has his sights set on a blue "do," and only his wife (who is also his hairdresser) kept him from a mohawk last time.

Bill and Karl have been shopping for a new drum set for some time now, and today they finally bought it ó an Arbiter kit that belonged to Jim Pugliano, the drummer for the Jaggerz, a Pittsburgh-area band that scored a #2 hit in 1970 with "The Rapper" (Remember: "Rap-a-rap-a-rap ó they call him the rapper?"), a song sung and penned by lead singer Donnie Iris, who achieved further national fame in the early 1980's with hits like "Ah Leah" and "Love is Like a Rock." That allows me to relay one of my favorite pieces of trivia: From 1964-1977, Mick Jagger (with the Rolling Stones) had a hit on the charts ever year except for 1970. But that year was not Jagger-less, because that was the year the Jaggerz scored all three of their hits.

But back to the drums, Bill and Karl think they're awesome, and you'll get to hear them on our next CD, but you can come hear them live (and see Bill's hair) at an upcoming ApologetiX concert near you!

6. APOLOGETIX AT THE PHILADELPHIA SPECTRUM

Growing up as a Pittsburgh sports fan with a rivalry against the Philadelphia Phillies, I thought it was pretty ironic when the band got to play a concert in the locker room at Veteran's Stadium on my birthday in 2000, and I got to sing the National Anthem before the game. Now, we get to play a concert at the Philadelphia Spectrum!

Saturday, March 2nd Time TBA
Ticketed Event

"PHILADELPHIA KIXX" Soccer Game
Contact: WZZD- Tim DeMoss 610-828-6965 x12 OR

The concert will be part of a package deal along with a soccer game by the Philadelphia Kixx. Tim "Timmy D" DeMoss, the morning guy at WZZD and an ApologetiX booster from way back, is spearheading the project, and he just passed this bit of information on to us today:

"FYI, the Kixx tix are $12 (discounted from $18; groups are normally $14, so that $12 price is extra cheap & the only price they're offering). Thru Mon 2/25 you can buy them & have them mailed, but from Tues 2/26 on you have to pick them up at will call that evening."

7. APOLOGETIX NOW A LISTED ARTIST ON THE R&R WEBSITE

Timmy D at WZZD in Philadelphia also had this very cool tidbit to share with us:

"Hey bro, in all seriousness, guess what? Apologetix is now an accepted (listed) artist on the R&R website for both Rock & Rhythmic charts!! They have a popup menu for programmers & reporters to enter the songs their stations are playing. The DCTalks & Supertones of the world are a gimme to be listed, but when I first started reporting playing "Manger" I had to type in all your info (including "Parodudes" for label). That was the case for several months. NOW when I sign on the R&R site to enter our song spins for the week, APOLOGETIX is listed, and when you click your name, Cheap Birds & All The Stalls Stink (rock) and The Real Sin Savior (and maybe Manger) (rhythmic) pop up as understood current "singles" (you can also enter another song if you aren't spinning either of those). I do believe our persistence here in Philly has lent itself to fan the Apologetix flame at R&R. Hopefully this will catch the eyes of other muckety mucks at stations nationwide that not only playing but reporting playing Apologetix can't be beat!! :) Timmy D."

Thank you, Timmy D., and all the other radio personalities out there who are playing ApologetiX!

8. APOLOGETIX IN THE MIDDLE EAST

This comes to us from Maggie Robinson, who did the psychic voice on "Mama Told Me (What's To Come)" on "Keep the Change." Her dad was one of the soldiers called up and sent overseas when the U.S. began its war on terrorism.

"Greetings and Salutations to my favorite band!!! Hi! This is Maggie from Albion for those who don't know me. And I am writing this at the request of my father who is cleaning toilets in the Middle East. He would like to send his thanks to you all for taking the time to sign the card to him. He thought that was really special and awesome. And he thinks you guys just rock. My mom and I sent some of your music on tapes over to him, so he jams to you guys as often as possible. So ya'll are over in the Middle East fighting a war. Or you could put it that way I suppose. I just wanted to let you all know that and pass on his thanks to you. You guys are awesome!"

9. APOLOGETIX IN THE PHILIPPINES

We recently received this e-mail from Jeff Campos, a missionary DJ at Bread of Life Ministries in the Philippines:

"It's me again Jeff, the missionary from Asia!

"We received the 3 copies of "KEEP THE CHANGE" last week and it is doing good here. The most requested songs from it are STAY IN THE LIGHT, BABYLONA, DANIEL, MANGER, THE BALLAD OF JESUS AND YAHWEH, SIMP LIZTIK. Could we also request also 3 copies of the "CHRISTMAS EP" you have released last December for our program and library... because I'm sure the song MICAH NO.5 would also be a hit here. Thanks for your support & God bless!"
