The Top 15 States We've Played
Fri., Jun. 23. 2006 2:08pm EDT
On June 23, we played our 29th concert in Michigan, giving the Great Lakes State sole possession of fourth place on the list of states we've played the most. It was previously tied with Texas and Missouri. We'll play our 29th concert in Texas on July 4, but by that time it'll be too late; we're playing our 30th concert in Michigan on June 30.
Not to be outdone by any other state, Texas will host its 30th concert on October 14. However, we'll already have played our 31st in Michigan on September 3. Don't be surprised if we add a couple more in Texas on that October 13-15 weekend, though, to put the Lone Star State alone in fourth place. As they say, you don't mess with Texas.
As you might imagine, our home state of Pennsylvania has built up a seemingly insurmountable lead over the years, Ohio and Wisconsin were neck and neck for the runner-up spot at this time last year. By the end of the year, Wisconsin had a two-concert advantage, but Ohio has made a huge push in 2006 to take a comfortable lead.
Here's how the current list looks, after the concerts of June 23-25:
1. Pennsylvania
2. Ohio (59 concerts)
3. Wisconsin (46)
4. Michigan (29)
5. TIE: Texas (28)
5. TIE: Missouri (28)
7. Indiana (24)
8. California (20)
9. Kentucky (18)
10. Illinois (17)
11. New York (16)
12. TIE: Georgia (15)
12. TIE: Florida (15)
14. TIE: Virginia (15)
15. MN (13)
