ApologetiX & Marilyn Manson?
Sat., Jul. 8. 2006 12:44pm EDT
Longtime ApologetiX fans Sylvia and Jessica Moore were in attendance at our July 4 concert in Mexia TX, as mentioned in our article on this past week's concerts. There was more to the story, but it was too scary to include in a regular article.
Like any scary tale, it starts out with happy news:
Jessica just graduated college. She's done some great illustrations of ApologetiX (including one of us as the Simpsons) over the years. She also did the illustration of the cover of our "Downer of a Sister" DVD, and we expect big things from her.
Artistic talent runs in the Moore family. Sylvia, who is Jessica's mother, has done some embroidery for ApologetiX (including table cloths and shirts) in conjunction with her friend and fellow ApologetiX fan, Wanda Rose Bush, the Seamstress of the South.
Although they live in Texas near Austin, Sylvia makes no secret that she's originally from Louisiana. We asked her if she was familiar with the classic country song "Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man" by Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty. She said yes, but pointed out that her husband, Doug, is actually from Maryland.
We pointed out that you could say that Jessica is a Lousiana Woman's daughter, and that their son, Wes, is a Maryland Man's son. Maryland Man's son! Yikes!
No, we don't think Marilyn Manson is that scary, but we do think that pun was scary. Actually we thought the pun was funny, and that's what's scary.
